Good week news for fans of Ginny and Georgia – the Netflix dramedy will return for a second season! The streamer revealed the show’s renewal in a Twitter video, with the likes of Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, Diesel La Torraca, Jennifer Robertson and Felix Mallard excitedly teasing season two.
Ginny and Georgia made its Netflix debut back in February and immediately shot into the platform’s top 10 list, becoming a hugely surprising hit. The series follows 30-year-old single mother Georgia as she moves to a town in New England with her 15-year-old daughter Ginny and nine-year-old son after her husband dies to give her children a better life than the one she had.
With series one leaving fans with a number of questions, here’s everything we know so far about Ginny and Georgia season two.

On Monday, April 19, 2021, Netflix officially renewed Ginny and Georgia for a second season composed of 10 hour-long episodes.
“We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny and Georgia,” showrunner Debra J. Fisher and creator Sarah Lampert said in a statement. “We’re especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for season 2.”
Fisher told Entertainment Weekly in February, “We want to keep talking about Ginny and Georgia for a very long time.”, Elle reported.

The show wouldn’t return without, of course, Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey as title characters Ginny and Georgia respectively.
Other members of the main cast likely to return include Diesel La Torraca as Georgia’s son Austin, Jennifer Robertson as neighbour Ellen, Felix Mallard as Ginny’s love interest Marcus and Sara Waisglass as Ginny’s best friend Max.
Nikki Roumel will also likely return as a teen Georgia in flashbacks – and she may well be reunited with Kyle Barry as the teenage version of Ginny’s dad Zion, with Nathan Mitchell as the adult Zion, according to Radiotimes.

There’s no trailer for season two just yet – expect one nearer release in early 2022.

Ginny and Georgia Season 2: Taylor Swift Controversy
There's at least one person who isn't a fan of Ginny and Georgia and it's a very famous person at that.
Taylor Swift bashed the show and Netflix for a joke about her. In one scene, Ginny becomes annoyed at her mom for asking questions about her love life. "Why do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift," she tells Georgia.

Swift's fans took to social media to criticize the line as misogynistic and the mega-star singer herself responded as well on Twitter. In her post, she specifically called out Netflix, which streamed her documentary Miss Americana in early 2020. The Swift also noted that March is Women's History Month.
| After Swift's message, "Respect Taylor Swift" began to trend on Twitter. Some commenters began to harass the show's stars, including 23-year-old Antonia Gentry (who plays Ginny). Others defended her, with one saying, ""I love Taylor sm but y'all need to stop harassing Antonia," one follower wrote underneath one of Gentry's posts. "She didn't write that line, pls leave her alone. She doesn't deserve this." |
Gentry recently posted her own Instagram message, though she does not directly address the Swift saga.
"Thank you for the love and support you have shown me and our show, 'Ginny and Georgia,' over the last week. I never would have imagined something like this as a young girl -- that is, having a voice capable of impact," Gentry wrote, Tomsguide cited.
