Steeltown Murders, which takes place in both 1973 and the early 2000s, chronicles the search for a murderer in Wales' Port Talbot region and how, in the first case of its kind, the mystery was solved using cutting-edge DNA analysis nearly 30 years after the crime.

The miniseries is a portrait of a town dealing with the effects of an unsolved case three decades later and explores the question of whether true justice can ever be achieved by contrasting police methods of the 1970s with forensic advancements of the 2000s.
