Who Is Barron Trump?

Barron Trump is the sole child of former First Lady Melania Trump and former President Donald Trump. From 2017 to 2021, Barron was the sole of the president's five children to live in the White House. Barron has seen alongside his father on occasion, although he spent most of his childhood away of the public eye.

Barron was born in March, 2006. Melania gave birth to Barron on March 20, 2006, and the little baby weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Donald preferred not to be present in the delivery room, stating that he believed it would be "easier" for Melania if he was not there. Melania later stated that her eight-hour labor was "very, very easy.".

"Everyone is perfect. "She's really happy, and it's great," Donald told PEOPLE after the birth.

Barron Trump's Family Members

Barron is the youngest of the former president's five children from his three marriages. He has four half-siblings: Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany.

He was effectively reared as an only child, nevertheless, because he is 13 to 29 years younger than his siblings. Although he and Tiffany may have shared some of their childhoods, she was reared in the Los Angeles region after her mother, Marla Maples, and Donald Sr. separated in 1999.

Barron became an uncle while he was still a baby. He has four nieces: Kai Trump, who is only one year his junior, Arabella Kushner, Chloe Trump, and Carolina Trump. Barron has six other nephews: Donald Trump III, Tristan Trump, Spencer Trump, Joseph Kushner, Theodore Kushner, and Eric Trump.

Barron Trump's Education

Who Is Barron Trump: Early Life, Education, Political Path, Fun Facts

Barron has attended schools in New York, Maryland, and Florida.

Barron attended several prominent schools throughout his childhood. While living in New York City, he attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Barron remained in New York City to finish the school year after Donald began his presidency term in January 2017.

During Barron's final year at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, he took his entire fifth-grade class to Washington.

A group of roughly 80 children joined Barron (together with teachers and Secret Service personnel) on a trip to the White House, where they met Barron's father. The party also visited the nation's capital and slept in a hotel before returning home.

In May 2017, it was reported that Barron would be attending St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland.

The Trumps pay approximately $40,000 each year in tuition at St. Andrew's. Barron's enrollment broke with the tradition set by past first families, such as the Obamas, Bushes, and Clintons, who sent their children to Sidwell Friends, a private Quaker school in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, Maryland.

Following the conclusion of Donald Trump's presidential term in 2021, it was announced that Barron will be attending Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, where he will graduate with the class of 2024.

Barron, who turned 18 in March 2024, has yet to select where he will attend college. According to a source, Melania is expected to "follow him wherever he goes to school."

Living in the White House

The Trump family, already well-known for their real estate holdings, reality TV series, and other economic interests, gained fresh prominence with Donald Trump's 2016 presidential election. However, Barron did not immediately follow his father to Washington, D.C. after the inauguration. Instead, the kid stayed at Trump Tower with his mother for nearly the first five months of his father's presidency to complete his education at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on the Upper West Side. Barron and his mother moved into the White House on June 11, 2017, and he started attending St. Andrew's Episcopal, a prep school in Maryland.

Barron became the first president's son to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1963. Although he stayed out of the spotlight for the most part, he did attend some of the White House's holiday-themed events in 2017, such as the annual Easter Egg Roll in April, where he helped his parents write cards for members of the American Armed Forces. He also supported his father's pardoning of the turkeys before Thanksgiving, and shortly after, he stepped out on the North Portico with his mother to collect the official Christmas tree from Wisconsin, which was displayed in the White House Blue Room.

High School and Life After the White House

After leaving the White House in 2021, Barron relocated to Mar-a-Lago with his parents. Barron enrolled at private school at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, as a member of the class of 2024, according to an announcement made in August 2021.

According to People, Barron has yet to select where he will attend college. However, a source claims that his mother Melania "will follow him wherever he goes to school."

Barron's 18th birthday in March 2024 sparked disagreement over how the media should treat him now that he is a legal adult. However, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, has defended Barron, claiming that he has a right to privacy. "I think he is a private citizen. I am convinced that if you are a private citizen, you have an unquestionable right to privacy, and I believe the media should leave him alone," she stated.

He intends to serve as an at-large delegate for the state of Florida at the Republican National Convention in July 2024.

How tall is Barron Trump?

Donald claims Barron is 6 feet, 7 inches tall.

According to comments made by Donald at his presidential campaign headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, in January 2024, his teenage kid is already 6 feet, 7 inches taller than him. He credits Barron's height to the fact that he ate everything his late grandma, Melania's mother Amalija Knavs, prepared for him.

According to the Daily Mail, Donald referred to Barron as a "wonderful youngster" during his address, saying, "I told you you're going to be a basketball player. He answered, "Well, I like soccer, dad." I thought... at your height, I prefer basketball, but you can't talk them into anything."

He speaks English and Slovenian

Barron is bilingual, speaking both English and Melania's native Slovenian. According to Melania, Barron frequently contacted his grandmother and chatted to her solely in Slovenian when he was younger. While Melania advocated for Barron to speak many languages, she also stated that she and her husband agree on the language Barron should use in public.

"My opinion is that more languages you speak, better it is, but when you come to America, you speak English," she stated to PEOPLE.

His main passion appears to be "sports"

In November 2018, the First Lady spoke at a forum at Liberty University, an institution founded by Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Virginia, that has been critical in bolstering Donald Trump's support among the religious right. Melania was there to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic as part of her "Be Best" project, and she offered some personal information about her family's time in the White House. She revealed that Barron does not use social media and is "all into sports."

However, in the lead-up to Super Bowl Sunday, President Trump stated that he would have "a hard time" allowing his son to play football. "I just don't like the reports that are coming out regarding football," President Trump stated.

"I expected the equipment would improve, and it has. The helmets have improved significantly, but they have not solved the problem.

His father named him

In an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Donald Trump claimed that he had named the baby and nearly altered it at the last minute. "It's a name I've always loved but I never had the courage to use," he stated.

"I offered Melania the idea and was about to take it away at the end, but she said, 'You can't! I've been calling him Barron while he's been in my stomach, and you can't take that away!"

Melania is very protective of Barron

Throughout her modeling career, Melania was known to keep to herself. Even as First Lady, she prioritized family above friends. Melania is still very secretive and maintains a close check on Barron, according to insiders who spoke with PEOPLE after Donald left office.

"Melania's friends are her family members," a source said in 2023. "Many Mar-a-Lago Club members and others recognize and see Melania. But they're not buddies. They don't get together to talk or socialize. She's always surrounded herself with relatives. She is a devoted mother to Barron and fiercely protective of him. "This is nothing new."

According to the insider, Melania's parents, who live on the Trump family property at Mar-a-Lago, "are also close to Barron and have been instrumental in his rearing."

A social and political source informed PEOPLE in March 2024 that "Melania's main job is taking care of Barron."

"Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years," the insider claimed, adding that Melania is completely focused on Barron and her family. She has always been family-oriented, and in addition to her charitable activities, she prioritizes family matters.

He tested positive for COVID-19 early in the pandemic

Melania Trump wrote about her coronavirus experience in an essay posted on the White House website. She also revealed that her son Barron tested positive for the condition at one point but showed no symptoms.

She wrote:

I was diagnosed with COVID-19 two weeks ago, just like so many other Americans across the country and around the world. To make matters worse, my husband and our nation's Commander-in-Chief both received the same news.

Naturally, my thoughts immediately turned to our son. To our great delight, he tested negative, but, as so many parents have wondered in recent months, I couldn't help but worry, "What about tomorrow or the next day?" My worry was realized when he was tested again and the results came back positive. Fortunately, he is a strong teenager and showed no symptoms. In some ways, I was relieved that all three of us were going through this at the same time so that we could look after one other and spend time together. He has now tested negative.
