The arrival of Google's search engine and Apple's iPhone has really turned the tech industry upside down over the past three decades. Now, an experimental chatbot called ChatGPT is expected to be the next to do so.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot app released by an active research lab called OpenAI. Since its release on the last day of November, ChatGPT has been used by more than 1 million people.
ChatGPT can provide information in simple but clear sentences, instead of just a long list of Internet links. It can explain concepts in a way that can be easily understood by anyone, far beyond Google's mere answer suggestions.
This tool allows you to type a question in natural language, and then give a conversational answer. Chatbots memorize the sequence of conversations, aggregate vast amounts of information on the Internet, and use previous questions and answers to inform subsequent responses.

ChatGPT is still provided completely free of charge. But OpenAI CEO Sam Altman insists he will make money from this tool in the future because of the high operating costs.
However, OpenAI also warns that ChatGPT can sometimes produce inaccurate or misleading information, so users should be careful. The answers may sound reasonable and even grounded, but they can be completely wrong. Software developer site StackOverflow even banned ChatGPT from answering programming questions.
