President Biden Trips 3 Times in a row while Walking up Stairs of Air Force One |
Update Biden Trips: White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Force One that the president was doing "just great" and blamed the incident on wind gusts. "It's pretty windy outside, it's very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself. He is doing 100% fine," she said.
Biden's hustling up the carpeted staircase when he trips not once, not twice but three times. He's holding the railing with one arm but still goes down, and even appears to bang his shin.
Biden finally makes it to the top after a few stumbling blocks, and turns around for a salute before ducking inside Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland on Friday, bound for Atlanta in Georgia.
Biden is the oldest president ever to be elected President of the United States, and was repeatedly attacked by his precedessor Donald Trump, 74, as being too old for the role.
Friday’s incident is set to further fuel speculation about Biden’s health and fitness for office.
Biden recently recovered from a foot injury he sustained while playing with his dog Major in November. He suffered hairline fractures to his right foot and wore a boot for a brief period, but was cleared by his physician on Feb. 6.
