1.Too Hot To Handle (Season 2)

Language: English

Releasing in batches starting in June will be the return of the Too Hot To Handle with new episodes Wednesdays.

For those unfamiliar, the show takes place in a tropical paradise where singles meet but they’re not allowed to “do it”.

The good news is that the series has been renewed through to season 3 meaning plenty more is on the way. In addition, a Brazillian spin-off of the show is due to be released at some point this year too.

2.Carnaval

Language: Portuguese

Release Date: June 2

New Brazillian comedy feature film directed by Leandro Neri about an influencer taking a break by taking her friends to a carnival to hopefully find more meaning to life.

Samya Pascotto, Giovana Cordeiro, Falvia Pavanelli and Bruna Inocencio star.

3.Dancing Queens

Despite it’s name, there doesn’t seem to be any link here to the famous band ABBA. The story centers on Dylan Pettersson (Nutley), a 23-year-old young woman from a small island in the Swedish archipelago with big dancing aspirations. When she’s talked into cleaning at the struggling drag club Queens, the club’s star dancer and choreographer (Quinones) accidentally discovers Dylan’s talent. She desperately wants to be a part of the show, but she’s a girl — and it’s a drag show — yet where there’s a will, there’s a way.

4.Sweet Tooth (Season 1)

As one of a number of upcoming DC projects on Netflix, Sweet Tooth is a series adaptation of one of the best DC comics by Jeff Lemire with Robert Downey Jr serving as an executive producer.

Ten years ago “The Great Crumble” wreaked havoc on the world and led to the mysterious emergence of hybrids — babies born part human, part animal. Unsure if hybrids are the cause or result of the virus, many humans fear and hunt them. After a decade of living safely in his secluded forest home, a sheltered hybrid deer-boy named Gus (Christian Convery) unexpectedly befriends a wandering loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie). Together they set out on an extraordinary adventure across what’s left of America in search of answers— about Gus’ origins, Jepperd’s past, and the true meaning of home. But their story is full of unexpected allies and enemies, and Gus quickly learns the lush, dangerous world outside the forest is more complex than he ever could have imagined.

5.Awake

Release Date: June 9

Language: English

Lucius Hoyos, Gina Rodriguez and Arianna Greenblatt headline this new thriller about a world where nobody can sleep and electronic devices can no longer be used.

6.Elite (Season 4)

Language: Spanish

Release Date: June 18

The Spanish hit series Elite returns with a refreshed cast and the promise of even more episodes in the future with season 5 announced.

As one of a number of upcoming DC projects on Netflix, Sweet Tooth is a series adaptation of one of the best DC comics by Jeff Lemire with Robert Downey Jr serving as an executive producer.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, we follow a young boy who is half-human and half-deer looking for a new life.

Right now, not many details are known about Élite season 4. But we do know that it will be the last season for actors Itzan Escamilla and Omar Ayuso, according to FormulaTV. The two Spanish stars have been part of the main cast since the start of the show playing best friends Samuel and Omar.

Last we saw, Samuel was given the good news that his mother and brother could come back safely to Spain after fleeing to Morocco. But did they actually return or is he still on his own?

Meanwhile, Omar decided last minute not to go to New York with his sister, Nadia, and stayed behind to be with his parents and his boyfriend, Ander. At the end of season 3, Omar joined Ander and Samuel as a student at Las Encinas. Perhaps, the best friends will also decide to move on after graduation ...

7.America: The Motion Picture

Language: English

Announced all the way back in 2017, this R-rated animation looks back at the history of America (albeit, not the actual history). The R-rated animated film will take an irreverent approach to the founding of the country and features a voice cast that includes Channing Tatum as George Washington and Simon Pegg as King James. Matt Thompson (Archer) directs the film from a script by Dave Callaham (Mortal Kombat, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are co-writing the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel with Callaham, serve as executive producers.

Among the huge voice cast for the movie includes Channing Tatum, Simon Pegg, Judy Greer, Bobby Moynihan, Amber Nash, Lucky Yates and Killer Mike.

8.Sweet & Sour

Language: Korean

Release Date: June 4

Coming out of South Korea is Sweet & Sour which depicts the relationship of three young people.

Lee Gae-byok directs with Jang Ki-yong, Chae Soo-bin and Krystal Jung starring. Based on the beloved DC Comic, and Executive Produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr., Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairytale about a hybrid deer-boy and a wandering loner who embark on an extraordinary adventure.

9.The Naked Director (Season 2)

Language: Japanese

Release Date: June 24th

Regularly namechecked by the higher-ups at Netflix, The Naked Director is based on the best-selling Japanese novel and season 2 continues the story of the adult video director. Season 2 will continue to chronicle the exhilarating story of real-life Japanese Adult Video pioneer Toru Muranishi, played by Takayuki Yamada. Aside from the sex, money and action associated with The Naked Director, the upcoming season will focus on Kaoru Kuroki who is regarded as “the first high-profile AV actress.” Known for not shaving her underarm hair, Kaoru defiant move served as an expression of femininity and helped define her outspokenness on sexuality in Japan.
