Chris Pratt's Biography
Christopher Michael Pratt is an American film and television actor who came into the limelight with his television roles like Bright Abbott in Everwood (2002-06) and Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2009-15). The Lego Movie, a computer-animated adventure comedy, and Guardians of the Galaxy, a superhero film are two of his most successful movies, which also got him worldwide popularity.
Born on June 21, 1979, in Virginia, Minnesota, Chris Pratt`s mother Kathleen Louise worked at a supermarket, and his father Daniel Clifton Pratt, who died in 2014, remodeled houses. He has two older siblings, Cully and Angie. Chris Pratt grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington, and as a high school student stood fifth in a state wrestling tournament. The actor dropped out of a local community college halfway through the first semester, post which he worked as a discount ticket salesman and then a daytime stripper. After that, he ended up homeless in Maui, when he met actress and director Rae Dawn Chong, who cast him in the 2000 short film Cursed Part 3. This worked out well for the actor as he got a role in the 2002 series Everwood as an athlete Bright Abbott.
Chris Pratt's Personal life
In 2009 Pratt married fellow actress Anna Faris, known for her roles in films like Scary Movie and the sitcom Mom. The couple met in 2007 on the set of the film Take Me Home Tonight. Their son, Jack, weighed less than four pounds when he was born nine weeks premature in August 2012, but has continued to make strides toward a healthy childhood, Biography.com cited.
After eight years of marriage, Pratt and Faris announced they were getting separated on August 6, 2017. Pratt posted about their separation on social media: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake, we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have a love for each other, will always cherish our time together, and continue to have the deepest respect for one another." In December of that year, Pratt officially filed for divorce.
The leading man subsequently spent much of his downtime with his son, though he was spotted on a date with Arnold Schwarzenegger's oldest daughter, Katherine, the following spring. In June 2019, a few months after Pratt announced their engagement on Instagram, the couple married in Montecito, California. The pair welcomed their first child, daughter Lyla Maria, in August 2020.
He has been more open about his Christian faith, leading his Instagram bio with Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me”) and saying on Twitter, “I love my family, friends, jokes, Jesus, movies, stories, outdoors, golf.” Pratt reportedly attends Zoe Church in Los Angeles and has said he’s been a committed Christian since he was introduced to Jesus Christ by a stranger when he was a teen.

Twitter's trending #RIPChrisPratt hashtag
Late Wednesday morning, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt began trending on Twitter under the hashtag #ripchrispratt, and soon after a series of faked racist and sexist tweets from his Twitter account began circulating. Only one of the tweets was real, a photo that Pratt posted in October 2012 of a Bank of America pen with the label “Made in China” stamped on it. “I feel like somebody smarter than me could make a joke about this,” Pratt wrote. It’s unclear what sparked the hashtag, but it didn’t take long for the memes to start flowing, including ribs at Pratt’s Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars rushing to defend him last October, said The Daily Beast.
Back in October, Pratt - known for his roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” as well as “Parks and Recreation” - was slammed by social media platform after he didn’t join his fellow Avengers in a fundraiser for Joe Biden, according to the Deseret News. Social media thought his absence was evidence that he supported President Donald Trump. All of that discussion spiraled into a conversation about Pratt’s Christian faith and the church he attends. At the time, people also compared Pratt to the other Chris celebrities on social media, like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pine.
In response, Marvel star actor Robert Downey Jr. ripped cancel culture in defense of Pratt, according to The Washington Times. “What a world,” Downey Jr. wrote on social media. “The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt. A real #Christian who lives by #principle, has never demonstrated anything but #positivity and #gratitude. AND he just married into a family that makes space for civil discourse and (just plain fact) INSISTS on service as the highest value.”
Unlike some of his fellow Avengers, Pratt has never spoken publicly about who he supports, although it’s been reported that he donated money to President Barack Obama’s campaign in 2012, according to Newsweek magazine. And Pratt’s wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, is supporting Biden, according to multiple news outlets. (If the name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver.) That didn’t absolve Pratt, though. Twitter users appeared to be on the hunt for evidence of Trump's support, seemingly combing through the accounts he follows on Twitter in search of a smoking gun.
