Aurelien Djani Tchouameni is a French professional footballer who is professionally known as Aurelien Tchouameni. He is well recognized for playing as a midfielder for Ligue 1 club Monaco and the France national team. He made his first-team debut for Bordeaux in 2018. On 26th August 2021, he received his first call up to the France senior squad. On 1st September 2021, he made his international debut in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying game replacing Thomas Lemar. Club career

Bordeaux

Tchouaméni made his first team debut for Bordeaux in a 1–0 UEFA Europa League away win to Latvian side FK Ventspils in the second qualifying round on 26 July 2018, starting the match and playing 89 minutes. He scored his first goal of his senior club career on 9 August, netting the final goal in Bordeaux's 3–1 Europa League away victory over Mariupol.

Monaco

On 29 January 2020, Tchouaméni signed a four and a half year deal with Ligue 1 side Monaco. After about a year playing for his club side, he finally registered his first league goal for the side, netting the second goal in a 3–1 win against Marseille on 23 January 2021. On 14 May 2022, he delivered an assist for his captain Wissam Ben Yedder and, thus, participated in the 9th win in a row for his side.

International career

Tchouaméni is of Cameroonian descent. On 26 August 2021, he received his first call up to the France senior squad. On 1 September, he made his international debut in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Bosnia and Herzegovina replacing Thomas Lemar in the 46th minute. On 25 March 2022, Tchouaméni scored his first goal for the national team in a friendly against Ivory Coast.

Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with AS Monaco to sign the France international midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in a total package worth more than €100 million, The Athletic understands.

The clubs are now in the process of finalising the paperwork and regulatory procedures in order for the 22-year-old’s transfer to be signed and officially announced.

Tchouameni recently decided to join Real Madrid, amid rival interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United.

He was a vital part of the Monaco side that finished third in Ligue 1 this season. He featured 35 times in the league, contributing three goals and two assists, and made a further 11 appearances in European competitions.

The midfielder’s impressive season has also seen him become a regular in Didier Deschamps’ France squads.

Tchouameni made his senior international debut in September 2021 and amassed 10 caps over the course of the campaign.

The Frenchman came through the ranks at Bordeaux, making 37 first-team appearances before moving to Monaco in January of 2020.

Tchouameni has made 95 appearances for Monaco in his two and a half seasons in the principality.
