Who are Most Searched on Google - Top 10 trending people searches
Google released its annual "Year in Search" data. And as part of it, Google shared everything were googled throughout 2020 — which, with everything going on this year, was probably A LOT.
Top 10 trending people searches of this year:
#1. Joe Biden

President-elect Joe Biden is on his way to being sworn in as president next month, but in the meantime, he’s won another honour: topping this year’s Google Trends, according to the tech giant’s Year in Search review.
According to Google Trends, searches for Biden reached a peak the week of Nov. 1 through Nov. 7, the week the presidential election took place and when the Associated Press called his Oval Office win the following weekend, as cited by Forbes.
#2. Kim Jong Un

After Biden, the most searched people were North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un— particularly in April, when rumours he had died circulated—followed by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

In August 2020, Kamala Harris made history as the first Black woman, when she accepted the Democratic nomination for vice president of United States. More so, her Indian roots, and nostalgic stories of Indian heritage courtesy her Tamilian mother, intrigued citizens further.
Finally, in November, Harris becomes the vice-president-elect of the US, the first time in history that a woman, and a woman of colour, has been elected to such a position in the White House.
According to India.com, on Thursday, Harris was also chosen as Time magazine’s 2020 ‘Person of the Year along with Biden.

On Aug. 23, Jacob Blake, a Black man who lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was shot seven times in the back — in front of his three children — by a white police officer as he walked towards his car. The incident was captured on video and quickly shared on social media, leading to protests (as well as counter-protests). The shooting left Blake paralyzed from the waist down.

During the Daytona 500 in February, the NASCAR driver had a horrifying crash during the final lap of the race — with his car flipping over and catching fire. Ryan suffered non–life-threatening injuries and has since returned to racing.

It was a big year for Tom, but not for the normal reasons we would have all expected. The year started on a high note for him — being nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Fred Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, as cited by Buzzfeed.
But in early March, he announced that he and wife Rita Wilson had both tested positive for COVID-19. A month later, Tom was the first host of the socially distanced Saturday Night Live at Home.

Vanessa suffered a terrible loss earlier this year when both her husband, Kobe Bryant, and their daughter, Gianna Bryant, died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26. Vanessa went on to give an emotional eulogy to them at a public memorial held for them at the Staples Center on Feb. 24.
