For many people, Bob Odenkirk is best known as criminal lawyer Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. For other people, he's one half of the sketch comedy duo Mr. Show, and to a very few select people, he's the guy who shows up at the very end of Little Women to say, "My little women!"
Now, Odenkirk is about to be completely reinvented as an action star in the upcoming film Nobody.
While the movie was originally scheduled to come out in 2020, it was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, it won't be long until we see Odenkirk kicking all sorts of butt now that the film has an official trailer, as well as a new 2021 release date. It's safe to say if you're a fan of John Wick, then you're going to dig this new tale of violence and vengeance, with some goofy sensibilities.
‘Nobody (2021)’ Release date
‘Nobody (2021)’ was originally scheduled to open in the United States on August 14, 2020 by Universal Pictures, before the pandemic hit, which caused it to move to February 26, 2021. On July 9, it was moved up a week to February 19, before going back to February 26.
Then it was scheduled for April 2, 2021, the release date previously held by No Time to Die (2021), but the following month, the film was brought back a week to release on March 26, 2021.
The film has had its release date changed four times due to COVID-19, but Universal has been utilizing the time to advertise the movie more with the film making a humorous appearance during the Super Bowl, according to Filmyhotspot.
Where to watch Nobody 2021
Beginning March 26, Better Call Saul fans will be able to check out Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody movie in select AMC and Cinemark Theaters. To find a showing near you, check your local listings (and local COVID-19 guidelines).
Those willing to wait will have no shortage of ways to watch Nobody online. When the film debuts on demand, it will stream on a variety of different digital VOD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play, Decider said.
Plot: What's the story about?
When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. His teenage son, Blake, is disappointed in him and his wife, Becca, seems to pull only further away. The aftermath of the incident strikes a match to Hutch’s long-simmering rage, triggering dormant instincts and propelling him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills. In a barrage of fists, gunfire and squealing tires, Hutch must save his family from a dangerous adversary and ensure that he will never be underestimated as a nobody again, Movieinsider wrote.
Nobody Is Bob Odenkirk's Take On John Wick
Nobody’s conceit sees Odenkirk intentionally up-end the usually timid, reserved, shifty image he has cultivated onscreen over the years to play a John Wick-style badass. The movie has the right pedigree to rip off Keanu Reeves’ cult franchise, since John Wicks writer and creator Derek Kolstad wrote the screenplay while directing duties are handled by Ilya Naishuller of Hardcore Henry fame, meaning Nobody will be a legitimately intense (if tongue-in-cheek) thriller rather than self-parody, Screenrant cited.
