How to Watch Live Ligue 1 from Canada via beIN Sports
Founded back in 2012, beIN SPORTS is a sports channel that is used predominantly for European sports, with coverage broadcasted to overseas markets, including Australia. Locally, beIN SPORTS acquired the Setanta Sports Australia network, rebranding in 2014 and expanding the number of channels available in 2016. BeIN SPORTS has since evolved into more than just a sports channel, and now offers its own subscription-based streaming platform called beIN SPORTS CONNECT.
beIN SPORTS CONNECT offers live matches for the majority of competitions, leagues and games, with highlights, replays and results also available on both the website and app. beIN SPORTS CONNECT also offers a TV Guide for its channels and competitions, meaning you can book your schedule out in advance to ensure that you don’t miss your team play. If you do miss your team though, beIN SPORTS CONNECT also has ‘Catch Up’, allowing you to watch matches in your own time.
If you don’t have a beIN SPORTS CONNECT subscription, you can still stream beIN SPORTS channels on other streaming platforms such as Foxtel, Kayo or Fetch which each include access to three beIN SPORTS channels.
How to sign up to beIN SPORTS CONNECTSigning up to beIN SPORTS CONNECT can be done via the beIN SPORTS website, with a ‘Subscribe’ button in the top right-hand corner. Simply click it and you’ll be asked to choose what type of subscription you’d like. From here, you can choose between a monthly or yearly subscription plan. Once you’ve chosen which subscription you’d like, you’ll be taken to the sign-up screen, where you’ll be asked to create an account. From there, you’ll need to enter your payment details, and then you’ll be all set for the big game. If you’re on a monthly subscription and decide to miss a month, your login details will still be the same, so you’ll still have an account when you decide to come back for another season. |
There are three ways to subscribe to beIN SPORTS – a monthly plan, a yearly plan or through another streaming service that offers beIN Sports.. If you choose to use another platform, the cost will depend on their individual subscriptions or bundles available. If you choose to subscribe to beIN SPORTS CONNECT, a monthly plan will set you back $19.99 a month, with the yearly plan costing $179.99.
Both the monthly and yearly plan also come with a two-week free trial, meaning you can try before you buy. Just be sure to cancel after your free trial though, or you’ll be automatically rolled onto a recurring plan.
- Payment can be made by credit and debit card, with both Visa and Mastercard accepted.
Watch beIN Sports on Sling TV
Sling TV was first launched way back in 2015, and it’s the oldest and most well-known cable alternative. With an “a la carte” approach to adding channels, and more than 2.2 million subscribers, it’s a great way to watch beIN Sports without cable.
You can get two base-tier subscriptions with Sling TV. You can choose Sling Orange for $30/month and get about 30 channels, or boost that number to 45 with the $30/month Sling Blue package. You can also combine both to get around 50 channels for $45/month (there is a significant amount of channel overlap).
Watch beIn Sports on fuboTV
fuboTV was originally designed to cater to sports fans who wanted to cut the cord and had an interest in international sports. For this reason, it has the biggest lineup of beIN Sports channels available, as well as plenty of other sports programming, and lifestyle, news, and entertainment channels.
Currently, fuboTV offers a few different channel packages, but its cheapest package costs $59.99/month. With this package, you’ll get about 100+ channels, including beIN Sports. You can add some more channels with some package add-ons.
Watch Live Ligue 1 in Canada on TV5 Québec Canada
TV5 Québec Canada (abbreviated to TV5) is a Canadian French-language specialty channel that focuses primarily on programming from international French-speaking broadcasters.
The channel shares a broadcast licence with its sister network, Unis, a channel devoted to broadcasting programming primarily focusing on Canadian French-speaking communities, in particular, those living outside of Quebec.
TV5 broadcasts a variety of French-language programming from Canada and around the world, including drama, sports, documentaries and information programming among a variety of other genres.
Canadian content is provided primarily by Télé-Québec and TFO, while foreign programming comes from the France Télévisions group, Arte France, RTBF (French language public broadcaster in Belgium), RTS (French language public broadcaster in Switzerland) and CIRTEF (council representing French-speaking Africa).
Ici Radio-Canada Télé and TVA are also partners in TV5 and provide programming to the international parent channel, but as both are already widely available across Canada, most of their programming is replaced on the Canadian version by content from Télé-Québec and TFO.
Unlike most other Canadian licensed channels, especially analogue licensed, TV5 Canada airs a considerably lower amount of Canadian content than other Canadian services: only 15% during its entire broadcasting day and 15% in primetime. Of that amount, it presents at least 104 hours of original first-run Canadian programming per year.
