There is no denying the fact that PUBG Mobile was a hugely popular game in the Indian mobile gaming community until the Central government decided to ban it in September 2019 citing security concerns, according to Zee News.
PUBG Mobile India fans were delighted after it was announced that PUBG Mobile planning to relaunch in India in the form of a special Indian version. It was also reported that PUBG Mobile India will come loaded with some new features that are different from the original game.
PUBG Corporation released a press statement on November 12 announcing that the company was planning to launch PUBG Mobile India very soon in India. In the statement it was also mentioned that PUBG Corporation would set up a subsidiary in India and the company will invest USD 100 million in the country.
Warns of fake PUBG Mobile India APK files
After the announcement on November 12, many download links have surfaced on the internet. But it is to be noted that PUBG Mobile India is yet to released officially which means that all such APK files present on the Internet are fake.
Gamers should not download or install such files and they must wait for the release of the APK files of PUBG Mobile India by the official handle of the popular gaming app.
It is likely that these links could cause significant harm to the player's devices and it could be malware disguised as a fake APK file.
Some recent reports claimed that PUBG Mobile India will feature certain gameplay changes like Green hit effect, Default character clothing, and feature to restrict game time.
PUBG India release date had been delayed
A nod from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
PUBG Mobile India has still not received a green signal from MeitY. The ministry which had banned PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite first needs to approve the relaunch of the game in its new avatar. Without permission, PUBG Corporation will not be able to launch the new game in India.
According to a report by InsideSPORT, a ministry source says, “Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating new company. This even Tik Tok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India.”
PUBG India needs to match all basic government compliances
In order to fully function in India, PUBG India Pvt Ltd will need to get a GST number registered. GSTIN or Goods and Services Tax Identification Number is required by every business holder in order to function in India. Apart from that, the company will also need to comply with the Foreign Direct Investment guidelines of the Indian government for the gaming and entertainment industry.
User privacy is a must
PUBG Mobile was kicked out of India due to certain security concerns. Now, PUBG Mobile India reportedly has made Microsoft AZURE as its partner to host the data. With this, the game developer will be able to ensure that the servers and user information are secure.
| Why PUBG was banned in India?
The Indian government recently banned PUBG Mobile in the country under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The ban stated that the app is engaged in activities that are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity, defence and security of the country. Since then, a lot of developments have taken place, including PUBG Corporation revoking distribution rights for the game in India from Tencent. Still, there is no sign of the popular game making a return in the country any time soon. |
PUBG: 1.49 million accounts in a week for cheating
According to Dotesports, the in-game anti-cheat system of PUBG bans millions of accounts every week. In the Dec. 4 to 10 weekly report, Tencent reported that 1,498,044 accounts were banned for using cheats.

There are several different hacks that cheaters use to gain an unfair advantage in the game. The majority of accounts were banned for using auto-aim hacks. Here is the exact distribution of the banned accounts:
X-Ray vision: 24 percent
Auto-aim hacks: 26 percent
Speed hacks: 16 percent
Modification of area damage: 10 percent
Modification of the character model: Seven percent
Others: 17 percent
What makes hackers even more annoying in PUBG Mobile is that they are distributed throughout all ranks in the game. Even a conqueror player may encounter hackers in the game. Here are the rank-wise distribution of the banned accounts in the past week:
Conqueror: Two percent
Ace: Eight percent
Crown: 12 percent
Diamond: 14 percent
Platinum: 13 percent
Gold: 11 percent
Silver: 11 percent
Bronze: 29 percent
PUBG Mobile also posted a video on its social media handles today advising players on how to protect their accounts from hackers. It suggested keeping a new password for every account, enabling two-factor authentication, changing passwords every six months, and never sharing account info with anyone.
