PUBG Mobile India Relaunch: Date, New Avatar, Gameplay details
PUBG Mobile India re-launch announced |
PUBG Mobile is coming back to India in a new avatar. Called the PUBG Mobile India, the battle royale game has been designed keeping India in mind.
PUBG Mobile India re-launch date
PUBG Corporation, the parent company of the game, announced the launch of PUBG Mobile India on November 13, but it did not mention an exact date. The fans have been eagerly waiting for the game's comeback in the country.
As you know, PUBG Mobile was banned in India two months ago and was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store soon thereafter. While some were still able to play the game, Tencent Games finally pulled the plug on server access in late-October.
Chinese giant Tencent initially published PUBG Mobile apps in India. After New Delhi banned PUBG Mobile, the gaming firm cut publishing ties with Tencent in the country. Prior to the ban, PUBG Mobile’s content was hosted on Tencent Cloud.
Late last month, two months after the ban order, PUBG Mobile terminated its service for Indian users.
The most popular mobile game in India: PUBG Mobile
With more than 50 million monthly active users in India, PUBG Mobile was by far the most popular mobile game in the country before it was banned. It helped establish an entire ecosystem of esports organisations and even a cottage industry of streamers that made the most of its spectator sport-friendly gameplay.
PUBG Mobile’s comback, however, could complicate matters for several industry players, including some that are currently building similar games.
It would also suggest that more than 200 other Chinese apps that India has banned in recent months could hope to allay New Delhi’s concerns by making some changes to where they store their users’ data. Along with PUBG Mobile, which was developed by Chinese tech giant Tencent, India also banned TikTok, WeChat, and other Chinese apps. The government cited complaints it received about such apps “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.”
What is PUBG Mobile India - New Avatar?
According to PUBG Corporation, PUBG Mobile India is a new avatar of PUBG Mobile. While the game should look familiar to PUBG Mobile players, there will be some India-specific features. The company said that in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs, but this doesn’t really tell us much about how the game will look.
PUBG Corporation added that PUBG Mobile India will offer new characters that will be clothed right from the start. The game will be set in a virtual simulation training ground and green hit effects will reflect the virtual nature of the game. PUBG Mobile India will also include a feature that restricts gameplay time to promote healthy gameplay habits.

PUBG Mobile India pre-registrations for Android and iOS have now opened for select users who are a part of Tap Tap game sharing community.
According to PUBG Corporation, a pre-registration can be done for ‘PUBG Mobile – India’ on the TapTap store. The pre-registrations are open for both Android and iOS platforms. Tap Tap has now listed PUBG Mobile India with pre-registrations for its community members.
Over 210,000 users?
The app has already been registered by over 210,000 users and is currently rated 9.8/10, Insidesport cited.
But there is neither any official announcement by the PUBG Corporation or any of its affiliate on the authenticity of the said registration module.
Today, PUBG Mobile India was not listed on Android and iOS app stores.
Many users are left confused as there has been an official announcement made by PUBG Corporation regarding the pre-registrations of PUBG Mobile – India.
But now the big question is – if PUBG Mobile Pre-Registrations are for real and authentic, why company is not making any official announcement on it ? According to some experts, the main reason could be that the Indian Government is yet to come out with their official stance on the Relaunch of the PUBG Mobile.
PUBG Corporation’s parent company Krafton Inc. also plans to invest USD 100 million in India to promote local gaming and entertainment. PUBG Corporation plans on establishing a local office where it will hire over 100 employees to enhance communications and services with players. |
