The sixth annual New York Music Month (NYMM), which takes place in June and features concerts, performances, industry talks and workshops, as well as a user-generated calendar where users can add free and ticketed music events happening throughout the five boroughs, has been announced by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment of New York.

New York Music Month (NYMM) - Hightlights
The biennial NYMM Conference, put on by MOME and the NYU Steinhardt Music Business Program, will be held on June 7 at the NYU Kimmel Center as part of NYMM 2023. Artist/songwriters Torae Carr and Vernon Reid, ABKCO Music COO Alisa Coleman, Apple Music's Ebro Darden, TuneCore CEO Andreea Gleeson, Verve and Impulse Records president Jamie Krents, Women in Music Chair of Education Chissy Nkemere, and Vibe editor-in-chief Datwon Thomas are just a few of the big names who will be present to talk about the state of the industry.
Additionally, MOME is extending NYMM's free rehearsal space program, which offers free studio space to musicians in New York City.
For the first time, the program will be broadcast from the following studios across all five boroughs:

The third season of the most popular music business podcast in the world will be recorded live over the course of 12 sessions starting on June 1 at Tower Records' brand-new Tower Labs facility. It will be produced by Emily White (Collective Entertainment).
Downtown Music Holdings' Downtown Music Educational Webinar Series - This online series, which will debut on June 1 and feature more than twenty international speakers, will shed light on eight aspects of the music business while dispelling myths and covering everything from the best approach to launch a music business to marketing musicians, obtaining royalties, and gaining new followers.
The Immigrant and Music Initiative (I AM I) will honor the various cultural contributions made by immigrants to the music industry through panel discussions and masterclasses (6/6 and 6/13 at BerkleeNYC and 6/20 at Quad Studios). Produced by The New York Public Library, Studio40 Showcase - The main media hub and public recording studio for The New York Public Library is located in midtown Manhattan. Teen bands from New York City will perform at the Kids Rock for Kids Concert, an all-ages outdoor event, on June 21 at the Old Stone House in Brooklyn.
The Haitian Music Industry's (HMI) Future by Kreyol Fest - The rich history of the HMI will be discussed, along with techniques for overcoming obstacles.
