How to watch and live stream Premier League 2020/21

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon is a relative newcomer to livePremier League coverage. It has 20 matches per season under the current rights agreement, and in 2019/20, it secured all of the showpiece Boxing Day fixtures.

It had a busy December schedule, and there's more to come this spring in the form of a Yorkshire derby between Leeds United and struggling Sheffield United over the Easter weekend (April 3, 3pm kick-off).

Amazon Prime Video has also got some other cool football-related stuff in its library, including All or Nothing: Manchester City, going behind the scenes of their successful 2017/18 season, and Six Dreams, a fly-on-the-wall look at La Liga in Spain.

It also broadcasts sports including the US Open tennis championships, other ATP World Tour tennis events and NFL games, and has an increasingly broad library of sports documentaries. And you can watch tournaments like the Australian Open via the Eurosport Player add-on.

Its Amazon Prime service (including the Premier League football) is priced at £7.99 per month, although if you've not subscribed before, you can access its services on a 30-day trial period.

BT Sport

BT Sport had the rights to just over 50 Premier League fixtures during the 2020/21 campaign, and will also carry coverage of the UEFA Champions' League and Europa League until 2024, following a multi-million-pound rights deal secured in late 2019.

Highlights for the network in the next few weeks include fourth-placed Chelsea's home game with relegation-threatened West Bromwich Albion (April 3, 12.30pm), Manchester United's evening game with Brighton (April 4, 7.30pm) and league leaders Manchester City's tie against Leeds United (April 10, 12.30pm).

Remember that BT Sport also features coverage from the Bundesliga, and holds rights to Moto GP, Premiership Rugby, UFC and WWE coverage as well.

Contracts for these two packages are available at various price points and run for 24 months, with a £29.99 cost upfront.

Sky Sports / NOW

Sky has the rights to over 140 Premier League games for 2020/21. Sky's also got the first game in March – a Monday evening kick-off for Everton and Southampton at Goodison Park (Monday, March 1, 8pm).

Further highlights include a key clash between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield (March 4, kick-off 8.15pm), the Manchester derby as Manchester City host Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium (March 7, kick-off 4.30pm), and the north London derby from the Emirates as Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur (March 14, kick-off 4.30pm).

Sky has a whopping 11 (Eleven, to go all vidiprinter style for a moment) sports channels. Its offering covers all sorts, from cricket, motor racing (including Formula 1 and Indycar), boxing, NBA, golf, rugby league, women's rugby and netball.

Its non-Premier League football coverage sits on Sky Sports Football and includes both EFL games and Scottish football fixtures.

BBC

Believe it or not, for the first time in the broadcaster's history, the BBC showed live Premier League sport on Boxing Day during the 2020/21 season, when Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace 3-0.

It's had a handful of free-to-air games this time around – mainly during the stay-at-home periods of lockdown – but it doesn't have anything in the calendar for late March or the first half of April.

However, if you're content to mute the TV and not look at it when they show the scores on the evening news, then there's always late-night highlights on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2. Here's a little tune familiar to anyone who watched Goal of the Month in a very particular time period.

In the UK: Sky Sports

Sky Sports is the broadcast partner of the Sky Bet Championship. There are two ways to get Sky Sports if you have Sky. You might first consider adding Sky Sports Premier League and Football channels to your existing Sky TV package for £18/mth.

However, if you enjoy other sports, you're far better off getting Sky's package granting you access to all 11 of its sports channels. That package currently costs £25/mth for 18 months.

If you don't already have Sky, you can currently purchase an 18-month Sky Sports contract for £43/mth plus a one-off £20 installation fee.

Now Sports Membership

As we mentioned above, in order to get Sky Sports, you’ll need to be an existing Sky TV customer, then add the Sky Sports Premier League or Sky Sports package to your existing account. All accounts tie you down to long-term contracts and are subject to one-time setup and installation fees.

If you prefer cheering for your favourite football team in the Sky Bet EFL Championship without any of these contracts and fees, then you're better off subscribing to subscribe to Now (formerly Now TV). This is a subscription-based, on-demand service giving you access to all Sky Sports content without any of the subsidiary fees or long-term commitments.

To live-stream the Sky Bet EFL Championship on any of your devices, you’ll need the Now Sports Membership. You have two options to subscribe to this pass:

Now Sports Day Membership for £9.99

Now Sports Month Membership for £34/mth

The channel also live streams other football tournaments including the Italian Serie A, Carabao Cup, World Rugby Sevens, Champions Rugby, and US sporting events like UFC, MLS, MLB and NBA.

ESPN+ costs $5.99 a month and you can cancel your subscription at any time.

In Spain, Italy and Canada: DAZN

If you live in Spain, Italy or Canada, then your best way to watch the EFL Championship is using the brilliant sports subscription service DAZN.

DAZN Canada and Spain also have an exclusive deal to broadcast all the Premier League games.

The service costs $19.99 for a monthly plan, and $99.99 for a yearly plan, but this price can differ based on where you live.

In Australia, the Middle East and North Africa: beIn Sports

EFL Championship enthusiasts in Australia, Turkey and the Middle East and North Africa can view live streams of the majority of games on another popular sports subscription service beIn Sports.

The service also broadcasts all the Premier League games if you’re based in the Middle East and North Africa.

beIn Sports costs $10/mth (depending on where you live) but includes a two-week free trial, which is more than enough time to decide whether or not you love the service.

In the United States, CBS Sports have the exclusive English-language rights to broadcast the UEFA Europa League until the end of the 2023/24 season. In total, it’ll be more than four full seasons of coverage.

Spanish-language rights have been acquired by Univision Deportes (TUDN), which will run until the end of the 2023/24 season.

For the Europa League, every single game will be streamed exclusively through the streaming service Paramount+, which offers a 7-day free trial and is $6/month after that. Read our Paramount+ FAQ for more info. Select TV games will air on CBS and/or CBS Sports Network.

A viable alternative is to consider watching Europa League games on Univision where many of the games will be shown on television in Spanish, which are streamed via fuboTV.
