Overview for Disney+ in July 2024

July is SHARKFEST for Disney+ subscribers, with a ton of shark-themed National Geographic programming to chill and frighten you from the comfort of your home.

The Acolyte, Bluey Minisodes, Descendants: The Rise of Red, and other new Star Wars episodes are on the schedule.

Just in time for the July 1 premiere of "Descendants: The Rise of Red," family viewers can enjoy singalong versions of the popular "Descendants" series.

The first series of "Bluey Minisodes" from Disney is without a doubt the most significant addition for July. A shorter version of the critically acclaimed Bluey series will make a return this summer after an undisclosed period of hiatus. The one- to three-minute "Bluey Minisodes" follow Bluey and Bingo as they play games and go on little adventures. On July 3rd, the first seven episodes will be delivered. Later this year and in 2025, there will be additional episodes.

In Lucasfilm's "The Acolyte," a revered Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) faces off against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg) in the wake of a startling crime spree investigation. They follow a dark path where sinister forces reveal that nothing is as it seems as more clues start to surface.Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Joonas Suotamo, Charlie Barnett, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss are the series' stars. Based on George Lucas's Star Wars, Leslye Headland created the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Jason Micallef, Jeff F. King, and Simon Emanuel. Co-executive producers Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are involved. Producers are Rob Bredow, Damian Anderson, Rayne Roberts, and Eileen Shim.

"Bluey Minisodes" is an anthology of one- to three-minute short films directed by Ludo Studio and written by "Bluey" creator Joe Brumm. The stories focus on endearing and humorous moments involving Bluey and Bingo, veering toward lighthearted exchanges and games that delve deeper into the characters and universe of "Bluey."

The Acolyte – Episode 7 at 6 p.m. PT

In Lucasfilm's "The Acolyte," a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) and a dangerous warrior from his past are competing to solve a shocking crime spree. As more clues come in, they follow a dark path where evil forces show them that nothing is what it seems to be....Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss are some of the actors who play parts in the show. Leslye Headland created the show, which was based on George Lucas's book Star Wars. She is also an executive producer, along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. There are two executive producers: Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana. The people who made it are Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow.

Descendants: The Rise of Red – Premiere

Former villain Kid Uma, who is currently Headmaster of Auradon Prep, invites another VK, Red, the disobedient daughter of Wonderland's despotic Queen of Hearts, to attend the school. The Queen of Hearts, who has long harbored resentment toward Auradon—particularly with regard to Cinderella—takes advantage of the occasion to exact revenge when she drops her daughter off at school.

Red must work with Chloe, Cinderella's meticulous daughter, to go back in time and try to undo the traumatic event that led the young Queen of Hearts down her evil path after she instigates a coup against Auradon.
