Hollywood is already preparing for the holidays, with a long list of festive film releases planned.

These new releases will help you get into the holiday spirit, whether you like rom-coms, family comedies, or even slasher films.

Best Christmas Movies To Watch in 2023

1. 'Candy Cane Lane'

This family-friendly comedy, starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross, depicts Murphy as a father who is so dedicated to his neighborhood's Christmas decorating contest that he accidentally strikes a deal with an elf who causes havoc in his town.

"Candy Cane Lane" premieres on Amazon Prime on December 1.

2. ‘It’s A Wonderful Knife’

If you enjoy holiday horror, this slasher adaptation of the beloved 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life" might be for you.

Here's a synopsis of the plot: A young woman believes her small town would be better off without her and wishes she had never been born a year after saving it from a serial killer. She is suddenly transported to a version of her town where that is true, and she must hunt down the killer once more.

"It's a Wonderful Knife" will be released on November 10th.

3. ‘Best. Christmas. Ever!’

Although no trailer has been released, this Netflix comedy will reportedly tell the story of two frenemies who spend Christmas together with their families.

The film, which stars Brandy Norwood (aka Brandy) and Heather Graham, will be released on Netflix on November 16.

4. ‘Thanksgiving’

If family films aren't your thing, Eli Roth's new slasher may be right up your alley.

It tells the story of a serial killer who comes to Plymouth, Massachusetts, to carve up more than a turkey, and stars Patrick Dempsey and TikTok star Addison Rae.

"Thanksgiving" will be released in theaters on November 17.

5. ‘Dashing Through the Snow’

Ludacris plays a single father who despises the holidays in this upcoming Disney comedy. Although no trailer has been released, the official synopsis from Disney describes the film as a "hilarious and touching story" about a family's journey to bond with one another and learn to appreciate Christmas.

"Dashing Through the Snow" will be available on Disney+ on November 17.

6. 'EXmas'

Leighton Meester and Robbie Amell star as exes who are forced to spend Christmas together. Graham's family invites Ali to spend Christmas with them in his absence after Graham and Ali break up. When Graham unexpectedly returns home for the holidays, chaos ensues.

It will be available on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video on November 17.
