Barcelona have announced two friendlies against Real Madrid and Juventus which will complete their preseason tour of the United States in the final two weeks of July.

Barça had already confirmed friendlies against Inter Miami and the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer and now will face two European giants in America as well. El Clásico will be played on July 23 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and the meeting with Juventus takes place three days later at the legendary Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.

This will be the first time Barça play preseason games outside of Europe since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we can expect plenty of fresh faces in Xavi Hernández’s squad with several players rumored to both join and leave the club over the next few weeks.

The last preseason friendly yet to be formally announced is the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy, the annual Camp Nou opener which usually takes place a week before the first La Liga game of the season in August.

Here is how to watch Barcelona vs Real Madrid, where you can live stream the match and the best free sites to watch the game.

Frequently in the offseason, particularly in the summertime during the major European leagues’ breaks, clubs will get together for exhibition tune-ups, often against local teams here in the United States.

While essentially preseason matches lacking big stars for European sides, and schedule-congesting plays for big ticket sales and revenue for American opponents, these games can still be entertaining affairs. The exhibition games lack the ferocity of a cup final or a significant league game. However, there are certain instances of dramatic games happening in these summer friendlies.

For example, the meeting between Barcelona and Real Madrid in Miami during the summer of 2017 was great. The score ended 3-2. Despite a lack of tackles, both sides fielded strong starting XIs, including Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Predictions

Photo: Sky Sports
Photo: Sky Sports
  • Both teams have scored in five of Barcelona’s last six games
  • There have been three or more goals with both teams scoring in three or Real’s last four matches
  • The last three meetings between these two have seen both teams score and 3+ goals

Barca beginning to click under Xavi

Barcelona had a sticky start to life under Xavi, but they enter this clash unbeaten in six competitive fixtures, registering three wins and three draws.

The new boss had plenty of success in El Clasico during his playing days, but this is an altogether different kettle of fish and their defensive issues raise cause for concern.

Across those six games, Barca have kept only one clean sheet, while both teams have scored in six of their last seven matches, as well as a friendly against Boca Juniors in mid-December.

Real back in form

After their shock draw with Cadiz and even more surprising defeat to Getafe, Real Madrid have bounced back with wins over Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey and Valencia in La Liga.

There are still some concerns over their defence, who have conceded in four successive games, with three of those matches containing three or more strikes.

As always, El Clasico will be a fascinating encounter, but Real certainly have the wood over Barca in the recent renewals of this old rivalry, coming into the clash unbeaten in five matches against the old enemy.

If we look at the recent meetings between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Real Madrid is leading the direct meetings with 4-1.
