Other Fees Required While Studying in the Tuition-Free Universities in Australia

However, in addition to the cost of tuition, there are a few other mandatory fees, which include the following:

• Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) funds national clubs and societies, student advocates, campus amenities, and other extracurricular services and amenities.

• Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC). This applies to International Students only.

The OSHC covers all fees for medical services while studying.

• Accommodation Fee: The cost of housing is not covered by tuition. International and domestic students will split the cost of housing.

The living allowance includes a small amount of paid sick, maternity, and parental leave and is subject to annual indexing.

If you accept an offer of admission to ANU, you must pay a deposit before receiving a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) that you can use to apply for a student visa. The A$20,000 deposit will go toward your tuition as well as the necessary Overseas Student Health Cover insurance premium.

ANU automatically considers incoming international students for scholarships when they enroll in bachelor's, master's, or research programs. The evaluation of recipients will be based on their ANU admission application since they will be chosen based on their academic and non-academic history.

Australian Government Scholarships

Australian Scholarships is an initiative of the Australian government to forge alliances and advance shared understanding, learning, and innovation in the Asia Pacific region.

Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) jointly administer all of the current scholarship programs under the umbrella of Australian Government Scholarships.

International UNE Scholarship

For international students who enroll in UNE's full-time coursework programs in 2023, the UNE International Bursary is intended to pay a portion of their annual tuition costs. However, submitting an application for admission to UNE does not assure students of receiving the bursary.

The published tuition rates for 2023 at UNE will be reduced by 30% as a result of these scholarships.

Students from the following regions who are eligible and meet the requirements set by UNE are eligible for the international bursary:

  • ASIAN (Association of Southeast Asia Nations)
  • LATAM
  • The Middle East and North Africa
  • North Asia
  • The Sub-Continent

Please be aware that each region's bursary is only valid for a limited number of courses. Destination Australia Scholarship

The Commonwealth Government has chosen the University of New England to administer a number of scholarships under the Destination Australia Program (DAP) for the academic year or years beginning in 2023-2024. Both domestic and foreign HDR candidates may apply for the scholarship, which has an annual value of AU$15,000 tax-free.

While this scholarship is intended for students pursuing higher degree research (HDR), it is also open to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students under certain restrictions.

The scholarship may last for up to 2, 3, or 4 years, with the possibility of biannual renewal, provided the recipient continues to make satisfactory progress and remains eligible.

The scholarship recipient must start their studies by the deadline listed in the offer letter. If this isn't done, the scholarship might be withdrawn and given to another candidate instead.

The candidate must fulfill the requirements listed below in order to be considered for the scholarship:

Must not yet be enrolled but must have applied for admission to a recognized higher degree research program at UNE for the 2023 academic year.

For the duration of the scholarship, the recipient must continue to reside in the Armidale region.

For the duration of the scholarship, the recipient must keep their student visa, if applicable.

In addition to the above requirements, scholarship recipients must also meet the following UNE criteria:

Not have earned a research degree at the same level as the candidate being considered.

Must enrol as a full-time, on-campus student to pursue their degree.

Once enrolled, participants are required to submit bi-annual HDR Progress Reports in May and October.

Candidates for the Destination Australia Program (DAP) Scholarship must be accepted by UNE for a Higher Degree Research (HDR) degree in order to apply. Applications for admission must be submitted or already have been.

You must submit the online DAP Scholarship application if you want to be considered for this scholarship.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships

A variety of sizeable research scholarships, including those for discipline-specific research, focused research projects, and others with broader eligibility requirements, are available from UNE to postgraduate students pursuing research-based degrees.

UNE International Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA)

Outstanding international applicants who want to enroll in a research degree at UNE are given the opportunity to apply for the UNE International Postgraduate Research Award (UNE IPRA) scholarship.

Outstanding candidates who wish to enroll in a postgraduate research degree at UNE may be eligible for up to 20 UNE IPRAs.

The UNE IPRA pays the annual stipend, course tuition, and one Standard Overseas Health Insurance premium.

The Awards are only valid for a maximum of three years for doctoral degrees and two years for research master's degrees.

Applications are evaluated for academic merit and potential for research.

UNE International Student Accomodation Scholarship
