Eric Garcia started playing amateur football at the age of 7 when his parent's signed him up for a trial at FC Barcelona youth academy, which he passed with ease as his talent was obvious from his early years.
Garcia had a very successful career for Barcelona and Spain national team at the youth level. He was a mature being his age since his childhood and captained every team he played at during his time at La Masia. Garcia was a also a member of the Spain U17 and U19 sides which won the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2019 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
One of his closest friends during his early years as a footballer was, Ansu Fati. The two had a great relationship on and off the field until they parted ways in 2017. Garcia moved to Manchester City and Fati was promoted to Barcelona's senior team. Garcia talked about his friendship with Fati in an interview after the teenager burst into the scenes in the 2018-19 season.
