Brian Kemp (Republican Party) is the Governor of Georgia. He assumed office on January 14, 2019. His current term ends on January 9, 2023.

Brian Kemp and State Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger have been targets of Trump loyalists who are pushing allegations of election fraud in the state:

As Trump continues to mount legal battles to his loss in Georgia and other swing states, he made a strong statement against Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp on Fox News.

“The Governor’s done nothing,” Trump said of Kemp. “He’s done absolutely nothing. I’m ashamed that I endorsed him.”

Sidney Powell and Lin Wood, two prominent Trump-allied lawyers, went on the attack against Georgia’s Republican governor as part of a “Stop the Steal” rally, with Wood even saying Brian Kemp should be locked up.

Powell and Wood’s legal efforts have been roundly mocked and derided, as well as being rejected in court — especially Powell’s typo-riddled “Kraken” lawsuit.

Governor of Georgia (2019-present)

Kemp was elected as the governor of Georgia in 2018.

Georgia Secretary of State (2010-2018)

Kemp was appointed secretary of state by Governor Sonny Perdue on January 8, 2010, filling the vacancy left by former Secretary of State Karen Handel. He won his first election to the office in November 2010. He was re-elected in 2014.

When Kemp was appointed as secretary of state, he became only the second Republican since Reconstruction to hold the office in Georgia.

Georgia State Senate (2003-2007)

During his four-year tenure, he served as chairman of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, vice chairman of the Higher Education Committee, secretary of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee, and member of the Appropriations Committee.

In the State Senate, Kemp was instrumental in fighting to cut fees, taxes, and mandates on job creators and Georgia families. As Secretary of State, Kemp utilized technology and innovation to cut bureaucratic red tape, slash spending, and streamline government.

As Governor, Brian Kemp is fighting to make Georgia #1 for small business through regulatory reform. He will ensure that all parts of the state - including rural Georgia - have opportunities to grow and thrive. Kemp is fundamentally reforming state government, keeping all families in the state safe, and always putting hardworking Georgians first.
