When and How to Pre-Order iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 to be announced at Apple's event is called "California streaming" on 14 September 2021. The event, including the Apple Watch Series 7, the Airpods 3 and, perhaps, a new 2021 iPad, takes place at 10am PDT next Tuesday, or 6pm UK time, and will be broadcast live from Apple Park in California.

When can you pre-order the iPhone 13 in the UK, US?

Nothing has been officially announced yet! Each year, Apple never fails to dazzle with its latest addition to the iPhone line.

In previous years, new Apple handsets have been available on the Friday that immediately follows the event that happens during that week - so it stands to reason the same will happen after the launch event on September 14.

Pre-orders are likely to start on Friday 17 September, and the new iPhone may start to ship on the Friday after that: 24 September. This is how it usually plays out. It's typical for Apple to release the new phone around a week after the introduction.

  • iPhone 13 announcement: Tuesday 14 September
  • iPhone 13 pre-orders: Friday 17 September
  • iPhone 13 on sale: Friday 24 September

Apple leaker Jon Prosser says his sources have the pre-order and start dates of the iPhone 13 lineup on the 17 September and 24 September confirmed.

How long does it take for iPhone 13 pre-orders to arrive?

One to two weeks. Apple typically announces the new iPhone early in the week, pre-orders start on the Friday following the event, and the phone’s release date is set for the Friday after that. If past years are anything to go by, you should receive the iPhone 13 one to two weeks after pre-ordering.

If you order it as soon as it’s available to pre-order, you should expect your iPhone 13 to arrive after around a fortnight.

Since we’re guessing pre-orders will go live on Friday September 17, it stands to reason (given previous iPhone releases) that the 13 will go on general sale a week later.

That’s Friday September 24, and we imagine deliveries will take another week or so.
