April 1st is April Fools' Day, which falls on April 1st every year. April 1st, also called All Fools' Day, is observed by pulling pranks and practical jokes, though it isn't recognized as a national holiday. It's just a good way to celebrate the arrival of Spring and make your neighbors, friends, teachers, and family laugh!

1. Google April Fools' Joke: TiSP

Though the G-team joked back in 2007 that it was launching a wireless broadband service that would run through the sewers, Google's broadband initiative might be the real deal.

Toilet Internet Service Provider, or TiSP for short, is defined as a "self-installed, ad-supported online service that will be offered entirely free to any consumer with a Wi-Fi-capable PC and a toilet connected to a local municipal sewage system." All you had to do to utilize the service was insert a fiber-optic cable down the toilet and attach the other end to a router that was provided specifically for that purpose.

2. Google April Fools' Joke: Pigeon Rank

Google April Fools PigeonsForget PageRank: On April Fools' Day in 2002, Google revealed that PigeonRank was the true secret to its search engine. Indeed, PigeonRank.

The system was created by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were students at Stanford, according to a page that was released at the time.

"Page and Brin reasoned that low cost pigeon clusters (PCs) could be used to compute the relative value of Web pages faster than human editors or machine-based algorithms," according to the page. 3. Google April Fools' Joke: MentalPlex

MentalPlex, one of Google's first April Fools' jokes, was introduced in 2000 as a revolutionary new method of brainwave search. MentalPlex would do the searching for you if you just projected an image of what you wanted to find and stared into a swirling circle.

A FAQ made specifically for the joke stated, "MentalPlex is the only search engine that accurately returns results without requiring you to enter a query." "MentalPlex is 'a quantum leap in finding what you are looking for on the Internet,' according to Google CEO and co-founder Larry Page. "Query typing is so 1999."

4. Google April Fools' Joke: The Topeka Name Change

Topeka Google - Even though it happened today, the first one is just too amazing to not include on the list. This April Fools' Day, Google announced bright and early that it was changing its name—to Topeka.

The joke was released a month after the real Topeka chose to adopt Google as its temporary name. The mayor of Topeka put his signature on a proclamation to persuade Google that his community was the ideal location for its upcoming broadband network launch.

Google retaliated today by adding the word "Topeka" in place of its custom logo on the home page. A picture of the Google office displayed a recently changed sign. Additionally, a placard explaining how to use the new name in conversation was provided.

5. Place Poppers Under The Toilet Seat – Do you mean those tiny white "firecracker"-style items that are packaged in adorable little boxes? After sitting down for an explosive moment in the bathroom, I bet you wouldn't think they were that adorable. To give them an explosive surprise when they sit down, just place them on the toilet's rim beneath the seat!

6. Special Outfit – Inform your spouse that you are getting ready for bed and that you are getting him something "special." He won't be far behind you if he thinks what I think he might think! Be hiding beneath the covers while wearing skimpy pajamas or doing something absurd that will make you both giggle for years to come.

7. Turn the Water Blue ~ Use nontoxic dye pellets intended to tint children's bathwater to turn the kitchen water blue. To replace the faucet, just unscrew the cap and place a few of the colored tabs inside. The sudden and unforeseen flash of color when the water is turned on.

8. Hidden Toilet Paper Roll Edge – When you need to use the toilet paper and can't seem to find the edge, it bothers everyone. Apply a little hairspray to it to make it nearly impossible to find. 9. Drawer Switch – Move your husband or wife’s drawers around so that they can’t find what he is looking for in the morning!

10. Put His Car Up For Sale – My absolute favorite is this one. After I did this to my husband the previous year, he was inundated with calls. Put his car up for sale and use a ridiculously low number in the advertisement on a local classifieds website. 11. Mess With His Phone – Change his ringtone to something totally lame or obnoxious or promiscuous and then call him while he is at work. Or set random alerts/messages to go off all day.

12. Auto-Correct Madness – Use the Auto correct function in Microsoft Word on their laptop to "correct" a word that is frequently used, like "the," by automatically inserting "April Fools'!" You can also use his iPhone to accomplish this by configuring a keyboard shortcut. (My hubby really completed this task for me a few months back!) 13. Don't Hold Your Breath for That Next Message - You're having a great conversation and you anticipate a clever response soon. They reappearance, then disappear once more. In this manner, minutes pass and still no real response!

This is a common occurrence that can be very annoying if you're waiting impatiently in front of your screen. However, it might be worse still.
