Occupation: actress and singer
Jacqueline Charlotte Dufresnoy was a French actress and singer. She took the stage name Coccinelle in 1953 when she began performing in drag at a nightclub where her mother sold flowers.
She went to Casablanca for gender confirmation surgery a few years later, in 1958, and became a sensation when she returned to France. She was the first in her country, like Jorgensen and Elbe, to publicly transition from male to female. Coccinelle continued to sing and became a movie star after her transition, appearing in six films between 1959 and 1968.

2. Amanda Lepore-US
Occupation: Model, singer, and performance artist
Amanda Lepore was born in the United States in 1967. She is an American transgender model, singer, and performer. She is also known as a transgender activist, author, social critic, and theorist. Lepore has been mentioned in the work of David LaChapelle and a number of other photographers, including Terry Richardson and Ruben van Schalm. She took part in David LaChapelle's exhibition Artists and Prostitutes 1985-2005 in New York City, where she "lived" in a voyeuristic life-sized set.

Andreja is a Bosnian-Australian model who has pushed the boundaries of fashion since the start of her career. Before coming out as a trans woman in 2013, she was an androgynous model. She has walked both male and female shows for Jean-Paul Gaultier, and she was the first trans woman to land a cosmetics contract and appear on numerous magazine covers.
Peji made history again in 2019 when she was chosen as the face of legendary underwear brand Bonds in the first-ever transgender model campaign in Australia. Pejic made her feature film debut in 2018 and is still acting.

Valentina Sampaio, a Brazilian model, has endorsed numerous brands, including Dior, H&M, L'Oréal, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, and many others. She made headlines when she became the first transgender model to grace the cover of Vogue Paris. Sampaio appeared in the film "Berenice Procura." She has a large following on Instagram, where she keeps her followers engaged and up to date.

The 27-year-old Trans woman from Chicago is a successful model. Bloom made her feature film debut in 2019 with Port Authority, in which she co-starred with Fionn Whitehead. She also co-starred with Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons in the feature film Asking For It.

Candy Darling was born in 1944 in New York City, New York, and passed away in 1974. She was a transgender icon and American actress best known as a Warhol Superstar. She was a Velvet Underground muse and appeared in Andy Warhol's films Flesh (1968) and Women in Revolt (1969), (1971).

Lea T was born Leandra Medeiros Cerezo in 1981. She is a Brazilian transsexual fashion model who was raised in Italy. Tisci is her professional last name, and she has been dubbed Riccardo Tisci's "muse." She is a Redken brand ambassador, a hair-care company based in the United States.

Teddy Quinlivan worked as a model on some of the biggest runways for two years before coming out. Teddy Quinlivan was discovered by Louis Vuitton's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière in 2015, and her career took off. She appeared on the runway for Diane Von Furstenberg and Jeremy Scott. Quinlivan came out as transgender two years after beginning her modeling career.

Hunter Schafer rose to prominence as a transgender model before landing a role in HBO's "Euphoria."
Hunter Schafer's modeling career began at the age of 18 when she was signed to Elite Model Management. Schafer walked the runways for Dior, Helmut Lang, and Miu Miu in a matter of years. She eventually broke into the mainstream after being cast in HBO's hit series "Euphoria" alongside Zendaya.
10. Indya Moore-US
Indya Adrianna Moore was born in 1995. Indya Moore is a model and actress from the United States. They are best known for their roles as Angel Evangelista in the FX series Pose. Time magazine named them one of the top 100 global influencers in 2019. Moore uses the pronouns they/them and she/her and identifies as transgender and non-binary.

Talulah-Eve, a fashion and television star, rose to prominence in January of this year when she became Britain's Next Top Model's first transgender contestant.
Talulah, who was born Aaron, underwent full gender reassignment surgery after the final season of BNTM wrapped last year.
She was the only transgender model to walk for Giles Deacon, who recently designed Pippa Middleton's wedding gown, at London Fashion Week in 2017.
The outspoken trans activist has lashed out at the lack of diversity within the fashion industry and was even invited to speak at the University of Oxford.
12. Marsha P. Johnson (1945-1992)
Marsha P. Johnson is credited with initiating the infamous Stonewall Uprising of 1969, along with Sylvia Rivera and other transgender and gender nonconforming people of color. When police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City, in June of that year, as they had many times before, Johnson and others present decided enough was enough and fought back. The ensuing six-day protest is regarded as the beginning of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. To commemorate the uprising, the first Pride parade was held in June of the following year.
13. Christine Jorgensen (1926-1989)
Christine Jorgensen was the first person in the United States to publicly transition from male to female in 1952. According to her New York Times obituary, she was born and raised in the Bronx and worked as an Army clerk prior to transition.
Jorgensen learned about a Danish doctor, Christian Hamburger, who was experimenting with hormone-based gender therapy in the early 1950s. She started taking hormone injections and later traveled to Denmark, where Dr. Hamburger performed gender confirmation surgery on Jorgensen. She chose the name Christine after the doctor in honor of him.
14. Renee Richards-US
Occupation: Tennis player
Renee Richards, a professional tennis player, shocked the sports world by coming out as a transgender woman long before Caitlyn Jenner. She made even more waves later, when she returned to tennis and sued the USTA, the Women's Tennis Association, and the US Open Committee for the right to compete as a woman.
Richards does not consider herself a pioneer, despite being one of the first to take on that battle (and win!). In 2015, she told GQ that she was a "reluctant pioneer."

Philippines-born, Geena Rocero is a model, TED speaker, and transgender rights activist. She has worked as a swimsuit model for Next Model Management, a top modeling agency. Rocero founded Gender Proud, a media production company that promotes justice and equality by sharing the experiences of transgender people around the world.
