Employees at the cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks earn more than $170,000 per year on average.

The recruitment consulting website Glassdoor has compiled a list of the highest paying companies in the United States based on a survey of visitors' salaries from July 2018 to July 2019. The majority of them are in the technology, consulting, and financial sectors.
Palo Alto Networks is at the top of the list, with an average salary of $170,929. This is significantly higher than the San Francisco Bay area average of more than $73,000, where the majority of the companies on this list are located.
Why wages vary between different companies?
