Ranked No. 2 is Jane Fraser, Citigroup's CEO. In assuming the post earlier this year she became the first female chief of a major Wall Street bank.
Among Fraser's accomplishments so far, Fortune notes, she has been unifiying Citi's wealth management business and making plans to sell underperforming portions of the company's consumer operations.

3. Julie Sweet, Chairman and CEO, Accenture
Accenture's chairman and CEO Julie Sweet, who was last year's top ranking woman on Fortune's list, takes the No. 3 spot. On her watch, Fortune reports, the consulting firm saw revenue rise 14% in fiscal 2021, has invested heavily in leading technologies such as 5G and blockchain and set ambitious environmental goals, such as having net zero carbon emissions and net zero waste by 2025.

4. Carol Tomé, CEO, UPS

Carol B. Tomé is the Chief Executive Officer of UPS. She is the 12th CEO in the 114-year history of the company.
Before joining UPS, Carol served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Home Depot, Inc., one of the world’s largest retailers. She joined the company in 1995 as Vice President and Treasurer.
Carol began her career as a commercial lender with United Bank of Denver (now Wells Fargo) and then spent several years as Director of Banking for Johns-Mansville Corporation. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Carol was Vice President and Treasurer of Riverwood International Corporation.
Carol serves as board member for Verizon Communications, Inc. and is a board trustee for Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Mary Barra is Chair and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors. She was elected Chair of the GM Board of Directors on Jan. 4, 2016, and has served as CEO of GM since Jan. 15, 2014.
Under Barra’s leadership, GM envisions a world with zero crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity – time.
She is focused on improving the customer experience and strengthening GM’s core vehicle and services business, while also working to lead the transformation of personal mobility through advanced technologies like connectivity, electrification and autonomous driving.
Prior to becoming CEO, Barra served as GM executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain since August 2013, and as senior vice president, Global Product Development since February 2011. Rosalind (Roz) Brewer joined Walgreens Boots Alliance as Chief Executive Officer in March 2021. She also is a Director on WBA’s Board. Ms. Brewer most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and Group President at Starbucks from October 2017 to January 2021. Prior to Starbucks, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sam’s Club, a membership-only retail warehouse club and division of Walmart, Inc., from February 2012 to February 2017. Ms. Brewer previously held several executive leadership positions with Walmart beginning in 2006.
Prior to joining Walmart, she served as President of Global Nonwovens Division for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a global health and hygiene products company, from 2004 to 2006, and held various management positions at Kimberly-Clark beginning in 1984.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Spelman College, where she did her undergraduate work. Ms. Brewer also is a Board Member of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture. Abigail Johnson has served as CEO of Fidelity Investments since 2014, when she took over for her father, and has been chairman since 2016.
Her grandfather, Edward Johnson II, founded the Boston-based mutual fund giant in 1946.
She owns an estimated 24.5% stake of the firm, which has$3.8 trillion in managed assets.
