Countries with high education expenditures almost always have an intelligent population. The reversing circuit is not always true, because among the first 30 places there are also countries with medium to low educational expenditures. The leading countries in this ranking are exclusively the most developed East Asian countries. In these countries, it is usual for the families to invest in the education of their children and not in the government. The educational expenses are not less than elsewhere - but not caused or paid by any government.Intelligence is influenced by national, political, and geographic factors. Often surprisingly, but scientifically proven, a warmer climate has a markedly bad influence on the intelligence quotient.

Wiqtcom Inc. is a Finnish organization that has been testing intelligence worldwide since 2019. The company believes in transparency and wants to share data and knowledge on intelligence and encourage the development of intelligence and healthy lifestyles for individuals.

The Company confirms that Japan is still one of the most intelligent countries in the world despite strong competition. The data confirms that the Japanese are very good at solving problems and making decisions.

What is the intelligence quotient?

The definition states that the intelligence quotient is a measure of intellectual ability. Often the IQ is confused with a concrete performance or even education. However, it is the "ability" of performing. In other words, the ability for comprehension, combinations and learning.

A person isn't less intelligent, because of a lower level of education. Instead, the one who can achieve the same education with less effort is classified as more intelligent. For example: In some intelligence tests are questions for the names of current politicians. This determines whether and how well the patient can remember a name and its position only by the influence of the media presence.

The intelligence quotient was adapted to a mean value of 100 points. For a standard deviation of 15%, an IQ between 85 and 115 should be taken as normal. Depending on the psychological and physical condition of the patient, the results can also vary by up to 10 points.

Intelligence is not a learning ability, but can be consciously increased. Through regular brain training like in school, individual skills are specifically addressed and achieved through a performance increase. Thus the general thinking-ability can be influenced by each individual within a certain framework. With increasing age, this possibility decreases considerably. Also part of the intelligence is inherited by father and mother.

Average IQ By Country in 2022

IQ levels change as the population changes. The older population is likely to grow in size due to longer life spans, while the younger population tends to take IQ tests. The Worldwide IQ Test has been measuring the intelligence of people in over 100 countries since 2019. The smartest countries in the world are based on their official IQ test results. These countries include Taiwan, Japan, Serbia, and Hungary. Taiwan residents scored an astonishing 116.07 in the average IQ score among test takers, followed by Japanese citizens (112.69), Hungarian citizens (111.42), and South Korean citizens (111.36). However, the reliability of the score in Taiwan is weakened by the small number of tests conducted in the country. The test seems to be biased in favor of the most intelligent people in the country, which could lead to inaccurate results. The results of more tests in Japan mean that the score is a more accurate representation of the whole.

The average IQ score in Japan is much higher than the average score in the world, and the standard deviation smaller. Japanese rarely, if ever, get poor results on the Worldwide IQ Test.

Many articles or people have a tendency to say that the Japanese have a higher IQ than Westerners and other races.

This widespread idea that Japanese people are intelligent ends up creating an obligation for Japanese people that don't exist, especially for those who live in the West. Already a lot of complaints from descendants who receive criticism and charges.

Not to mention that IQ is something individual and not defined by race or appearance. The Japanese can indeed have a high IQ, as well as Brazilians, Mexicans, Africans and others, everything depends on the brain and the life that the person leads.

Japanese writing makes them have a better memory, intelligence of another level, they can see a world that we do not see, really understand the meaning of each word due to the combination of ideogram and word formation of the Japanese language.

With an average IQ of 106, Taiwan has moved up a slot this year from fourth to third on a list created by UK-based media company Alltime 10s titled "10 Smartest Countries in the World," overtaking rival Singapore in the process.

The video goes on to cite Taiwan's impressive fourth place finish in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) in science and math in 2015. Launched in 2000, PISA is undertaken once every three years to test the abilities of 15-year-old students in the core academic disciplines of reading, math and science.

It also listed Taiwan's high college entrance rate, citing its dramatic rise from 20 percent before the 1970s to a rate of 49 percent by 1996, before ultimately reaching 90 percent by 2006, making it one of the highest in Asia.

In terms of educational attainment, Taiwan also ranked 4th in the world, ahead of overall 1st place finisher Japan and topped by only Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

Singapore has been scientifically proven to be the country with the highest amount of intelligent students. Kids in Singapore grow up learning at a very young age– before they even get to primary school. Education seems to be especially valued in Asian countries. Because of Singapore’s academic success, it has lead to the country being one of the best-performing economies in the entire world.

Preschool is one of the most important years in a child’s life because it is the base of the rest of their education. Another factor that has a great impact on the education of kids in Singapore is money. A lot of money is spent by parents and grandparents to get a quality education for the children. The mentality of the people living in Singapore is that education comes first and that people are willing to spend as much money as they can to ensure that their child gets a well-rounded education.

Worldwide IQ Test

The intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a measure of intelligence that has been widely used in the psychological community for over a century. An IQ test is designed to measure a person's cognitive abilities, including problem-solving skills, abstract thinking, and general knowledge.

Our IQ test is reliable, accurate, and culture fair. Many IQ tests require that the participant is capable of speaking a particular language, can understand complex mathematical problems, or understands the significance of an item within the context of a culture. This won't determine true IQ, but rather the ability of an individual within a specific community.

The Worldwide IQ Test overcomes these issues making it a relevant and reliable measurement tool for test-takers around the globe.

4. Hong Kong (105.37)

Some scientists think Hong Kong has a higher iodine diet than most other countries and this diet has quite a positive effect on mental ability and concentration and a very high influence on the IQ level.

Of course, education and medical level have an effect on IQ too. But the highest IQ doesn't make HK the happiest country - it ranks low (#71) on the Happiness Report which is super-low for a country as developed as HK.

So despite the fact that this country is considered to be sufficiently developed and educated, its inhabitants, unfortunately, do not feel happy themselves.

5. China (104.1)

Chinese students are the smartest. Slightly smarter than Japanese or Korean students, definitely smarter than the smartest Europeans, and even intellectually superior to their American peers. Or so you are likely to conclude as you leaf through the PISA report, a triennial publication by the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) that compares educational performance worldwide.

It was 2009 when Shanghai first took part in the study, which tests fifteen-year-olds on reading comprehension, maths and science. The Chinese promptly ended up at the top, a feat they repeated three years later. They surpassed the best European country, Finland, in every category. In maths, Shanghai even performed 20% better than the OECD average. The Netherlands has been hovering around that average for years.

6. South Korea (102.35)

Education in South Korea is an overwhelmingly serious matter. This is the place where teachers can become celebrities and suicide is the number one killer of the under 40s.

Factual knowledge or innovation are not criteria which Koreans consider when they judge someone to find out whether he's smart. In Korea, numbers make all the difference. People are considered smart when they attend prestigious universities, just like in France. But unlike France, Korean people are considered smart when they are good at getting high numbers at tests. While job interviews in both France and America tend to select people depending on how well people performed at the interview and how much experience they have,

Koreans put much more weight on tests results: college GPA scores, standardized test scores and college attended, which is itself often a reflection of college entrance exam scores. Another factor to be considered smart is the job or position one has: lawyers, doctors, professors and to a certain degree journalists and clergymen are considered smart. Finally, in Korean society, a student can never be regarded as smart by the overall society, nor can a young person in general.

The reason Koreans value education so much more than others is a deeply-rooted thing. This is a country of near enough zero natural resources, so what they have to rely on is their human resources. Exporting Hyundais and Samsungs and Glenn from The Walking Dead - they’re world leaders in all of that. The state of the country and it’s future is completely entwined with educating the children.

7. Belarus (101.6)

Behind the scenes of seemingly unspectacular Belarusian life, the IT industry is booming. If you come to Belarus, a country in Eastern Europe with a population of 10 million, you won’t see many outward signs of the nation containing a high ratio of IT folks.

Nowadays, 88% of Belarusians pursue tertiary education. This makes Belarus #4 in the world in post-secondary education enrollment ratio. And since the prestige of technical degrees increased significantly in the past 5 to 10 years, many of those graduates become valid IT job candidates.

In the recent years, several startup incubators joined the Park. You may have heard of these successful startups from Belarus: Viber (now a Rakuten company), MSQRD (now owned by Facebook), World of Tanks, PandaDoc, Kino-Mo, and others.

8. Finland (101.2)

Finnish teenagers are among the smartest in the world. They earned some of the top scores by 15-year-old students who were tested in 57 countries. American teens finished among the world's C students even as U.S. educators piled on more homework, standards and rules. Finnish youth, like their U.S. counterparts, also waste hours online. They dye their hair, love sarcasm and listen to rap and heavy metal. But by ninth grade they're way ahead in math, science and reading -- on track to keeping Finns among the world's most productive workers.

The academic prowess of Finland's students has lured educators from more than 50 countries in recent years to learn the country's secret, including an official from the U.S. Department of Education. What they find is simple but not easy: well-trained teachers and responsible children. Early on, kids do a lot without adults hovering. And teachers create lessons to fit their students.

9. Liechtenstein (101.07)

The tiny country is the second-least-visited in Europe, and it's home to only about 38,000 people. At about 62 square miles, it's nearly eight times smaller than the city of Los Angeles. It has no airport and no coastline, and its largest city has only 6,000 residents.

But despite its size, Liechtenstein has a per capita GDP of $165,028 — the second highest in the world, surpassed only by Monaco. And it has virtually no national debt. The country is the world’s richest country per capita, driven by a 12.5% corporate tax rate—among the lowest in the continent—and freewheeling incorporation rules resulting in many holding companies establishing offices in the country’s capital, Vaduz.

This country is the largest and most powerful European economy and is considered to be the third most developed country in the world after the US and Japan. People in this country are very intelligent!

Germans are the most intelligent people in Europe, well ahead of the British (in eighth place) and the French (15th), according to a study by the University of Ulster.

Germans were top of the table with an IQ of 107, according to Richard Lynn, of the University of Ulster, who headed the study. Professor Lynn caused controversy last year by suggesting men were more intelligent than women by about five IQ points on average. He now hypothesises people living in the more challenging environments of Northern Europe developed larger brains than those in warmer climates further south.
