Top 10 Most Beautiful Five-Star Hotels In The World
1. Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE: 2,428,501 hashtags
Built to represent the sail of an Arabian dhow, as Lux Review reported, the Burj Al Arab is the seventh tallest hotel in the world. Easily one of the most outrageously extravagant hotels in the world, it features a pillow menu with nine types of pillows for the guest to choose from, 24-carat gold leaf walls and full-sized Hermes amenities in every suite.
Occupying a private island connected to the mainland by a fiercely guarded causeway, Burj Al Arab’s exclusivity is reinforced by its segregation.
Whilst the official rating of the hotel is 5-star (the highest hotel rating there is), it is widely referred to as a seven-star hotel. This magnificent destination offers world class service-right down to the chauffeur driven Rolls Royce service.
Richly coloured duplexes, as The Telegraph reported, in Pharaoh hues of blue, purple, yellow and gold, house vast lounges benefiting from two-storey windows and enormous electric blinds. Grand staircases lead to first-floor bedrooms with two views: the Arabian Gulf or the reflections in mirrors above beds. Televisions rise at the push of a button from decorative cabinets and bathrooms with mosaic tiles compliment ornate whirlpool tubs, walk-in showers and twin basins with gold-plated taps. Workspaces are equally well endowed with computers, scanners and fax machines as standard. Premium suites have additional perks for those who might require a private cinema or games room with professional snooker table.

2. Soneva Jani in the Maldives: 415,461 hashtags
When it comes to Maldives travel, you have to try pretty hard to have a bad vacation. Inspired by a word that means wisdom in Sanskrit, Soneva Jani is located on Medhufaru island, which is part of an uninhabited five-island cluster in the Noonu Atoll. The Maldives’ most exclusive hotel – and my favorite hotel in the world – is fringed by pristine beaches, blanketed with lush tropical greenery, and surrounded by a 5.6 km (3,4 mi) lagoon of crystal clear waters with uninterrupted 360° views of the Indian Ocean.
Don’t be surprised that everyone on the island knows you by name. The staff are friendly and relaxed, and eager to take care of all guests' wants and needs. Chapter One and Chapter Two are connected via a three-minute speedboat ride, a 20-minute buggy ride or a 10-minute electric bike ride.
Between the two sections of the island, there are nine restaurants serving everything from multi-course raw dishes to pepper crabs. There's also an overwater movie screen and an outdoor observatory with one of the strongest telescopes in the Indian Ocean.
There are seven categories of villas in Chapter One and Chapter Two, starting with a One Bedroom Water Retreat (with no slide due to the low tide), up to the Four Bedroom Island Reserve with its own massive pool. A few of the over-the-top features across the resort's accommodations include a retractable ceiling designed for star-gazing, private lagoon access from the bathroom, marine-themed light fixtures and a hidden television, made to look like a set of luggage. And, of course, there are the signature slides located on the second floor of most villas.
Another common feature is a small kitchen area with a Smeg fridge and a wine cooler, while the wardrobe is bigger than most people’s apartments. If you get tired of looking out the windows, look down to see fish through the glass panels sprinkled throughout the villas.

3. Bellagio Las Vegas in Nevada: 161,088 hashtags
Bellagio Hotel is centrally located in the heart of the Strip, with Aria Resort and the City Center nearby. The airport and convention facilities are a short drive away.
At the resort’s entrance, guests will enjoy the beauty and romance of the sensational Fountains of Bellagio. The Bellagio Hotel has 3933 rooms that overlook around the Bellagio Lake, swimming pool and garden. Guest rooms reflect the contemporary adornment style in the Mediterran. Bellagio is offering an opportunity for you to bring your dog.
According to Oyster, the elaborate Italian-themed courtyard is one of many highlights, with five swimming pools, elaborate sculptures, and fountains. Rooms are sophisticated and contemporary, and all have marble bathrooms with separate glass showers and soaking tubs. Guests (mostly couples, and a healthy dose of families and business travelers) will find formal room service, a superb fitness center and spa, and the best buffet on the Strip; attractions such as the indoor botanical gardens and the dancing fountains are world-famous. Cirque du Soleil performs here, and the massive gaming floor is one of the best in Vegas. The Bellagio has prices to match its five-pearl service; in terms of competition, only the Encore and the Cosmopolitan can compare.
Since it opened in 1998, the Bellagio has been a formidable contender for best resort on the Strip. The 3,933-room Italian "villa", renovated in 2012, borders an 8.5-acre lake. The lake's 1,200 dancing water fountains, the butterflies in the elaborately decorated botanical garden (the look changes seasonally), and the high-end shopping (boutiques such as Chanel and Prada are on-site), have become must-see attractions for anyone visiting Vegas -- which means the place is crowded. You’ll likely have trouble finding anywhere to sit, unless it's in front of a slot machine or at a restaurant. Because of its high prices and luxurious amenities, the Bellagio crowd is a bit more conservative -- think: moneyed middle-agers enjoying a dinner at Jean Georges' Prime Steakhouse or Lago.
The fountain show is a popular Vegas attraction for guests and non-guests alike, and they take place every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on the time of day. The hotel is also famous for acting as the central setting for the film Ocean's Eleven, where the characters robbed its vault.

4. The Plaza in New York City: 160,237 hashtags
Based in midtown Manhattan, The Plaza has been one of New York’s most treasured landmarks since 1969. For over 100 years, the hotel has welcomed guests from around the world, including dignitaries, Hollywood royalty and world leaders.
Providing a luxurious backdrop for famous blockbusters, guests can indulge in an opulent five star stay whilst being conveniently situated near New York City Center, Rockefeller Center, the Radio City Music Hall and Central Park.
It was also the site of many a celebrity wedding, including that between Donald Trump and former wife Marla Maples in 1993. The Grand Ballroom has hosted everything from the Tony Awards after-party to pre-Grammy events, like this party in 1998. The hotel also featured what was once known as the Persian Room, a legendary nightclub that played host to guests like Bob Hope and Liza Minnelli. Today it has been transformed into The Rose Club, which features plush velvet seating, live music, cocktails, and an epicurean menu. |
Striking the balance between its storied past and limitless future, The Plaza is the ultimate New York City luxury lifestyle destination - an iconic urban resort with a new and contemporary spirit. While traditions remain, such as the opulent grandeur of the Beaux Arts decor and the iconic Afternoon Tea in The Palm Court, exciting new offerings at this legendary hotel include the elegant Champagne Bar, the stylish Rose Club, and The Plaza Food Hall. The Plaza Hotel offers 282 distinctive guestrooms, including 102 luxurious suites, which boast the largest square footage of any luxury hotel in New York City. From the sumptuous decor to the impeccable white glove service, The Plaza is an extraordinary hotel that offers every indulgence. For our suite guests, The Plaza is pleased to offer Butler Service 24 hours a day, as Trip Advisor reported.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Photo: Business Insider. |
According to Business Insider, today, the hotel continues to impress with its grandeur. There are a variety of suites for guests to choose from, including the Royal Suite, which offers 4,490 square feet of space and starts at $25,000 per night. Highlights include a grand piano, formal dining room, private elevator access, and a library stocked with hand-selected books by publisher Prosper Assouline.
5. The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California: 127,297 hashtags
There’s something to be said for the place that gave Beverly Hills its name and turned it into one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the country. Opened in 1912 amid the fields of the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Beverly Hills Hotel and its luxurious bungalows were a mainstay of the Hollywood scene since day one. In the early days the hotel attracted the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, made gossip rags as a Rat Pack drinking hole, and appeared in more than a few films. Its legendary Polo Lounge and Cabana Café—revamped along with the rest of the hotel between 2012 and 2014—embody the decadence of midcentury silver screen society, in all its signature pink-and-green, retro botanical-print glory.
The Beverly Hills Hotel is a luxury, located on Sunset Boulevard in the center of Beverly Hills and surrounded by 12 acres of lush, tropical gardens, exotic flowers, and private walkways. Providing privacy and tranquility in a truly residential setting, The Beverly Hills Hotel is within easy access to the business and entertainment centers of Los Angeles, Century City, Rodeo Drive, and many of the Hollywood studios. The hotel is just a 35-minute drive from Los Angeles International Airport. Referred to locally as "The Pink Palace" The Beverly Hills Hotel is a place to see and be seen, to catch glimpses of famous faces, or to revel in splendid luxury. What makes The Beverly Hills Hotel stand out is its superlative combination of service, a location that offers guests privacy, yet in the heart of a city, and a refreshed facility that, while faithful to the hotel's architectural and interior design traditions, is more dramatically beautiful than ever.
Nowadays, as AFAR reported, the iconic pool, the scene of many a photoshoot and film, is open to the public for a fee, so the stars confine themselves to the kitted-out, guests-only pool cabanas and the storied, residence-like bungalows. But, between the anything-you-wish service, 12 acres of exotic gardens, and lovingly restored deco-meets-1940s–style rooms, everyone’s somebody, here.

6. Halekulani in Honolulu, Hawaii: 93,179 hashtags
One of the first and finest hotels in Hawaii, Halekulani five-star hotel has welcomed guests to these tranquil beachfront grounds for more than a century.
The Halekulani Hotel was first opened in 1907 as a residential hotel. Now, the towering property is made up of five buildings on a five acre oceanfront lot, offering guests unobstructed ocean views, many overlooking the iconic Diamond Head Crater. The breezy open-air lobby with wood-paneled walls and tropical floral displays has a peaceful feel, while the immaculately-manicured grounds seem to be spotless, with barely a leaf astray on the ground. While it's mostly a breezy and laid-back place, the vibe here is more upmarket than many Waikiki properties.
Though the Halekulani enjoys prime real estate in central Waikiki, it doesn’t have a beach of its own, save for the pocket that forms in front of the seaside public access walkway at low tide. Still, the right-on-the-waves setting has its advantages: all but a handful of rooms enjoy views of the tropical blue-green sea. It’s a three-block walk inland to the restaurants and shopping centers lining Kalakaua Avenue.
Pool attendants offer sunscreen and towels to guests under shady umbrellas poolside, as Telegraph reported. There’s a full-service business center for working guests, a state-of-the-art gym with machines overlooking the pool and the ocean, water aerobics classes, and a spa, which makes up for what it lacks in whirlpools and steam rooms with an impressive menu of services: facials, wraps, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massages and Zen acupressure treatments, hair and nails.

All 453 rooms are outfitted in the hotel’s 'seven shades of white,' reddish wood accents and the occasional blue pillow. The understated rooms let spectacular outside views dominate the color palette: baby blue skies, green palms, electric blue-green sea, and, in some (like number 1463, a spacious 'standard guestroom') the dusty brown monolith of Diamond Head Crater. Each guest is welcomed with an in-room plate of seasonal tropical fruit and there’s nightly turndown service featuring the property’s own chocolates. All rooms have balconies, separate showers and tubs as well as plush bathrobes.
Value for Money Double rooms from $540 (£444) in low season; and from $630 (£518) in high. Includes breakfast. Room rates vary depending on view and rooms without breakfast are also available. Family-Friendly? A Kids’ Club only operates during the high seasons (summer and over the Christmas holidays). There’s kids' menus in most restaurants, baby bathrobes, strollers and family plans, which offer savings on additional rooms. |
7. Claridges Hotel in London, England, UK: 76,555 hashtags
Precariously close to old-fashioned hotel perfection. It must be a slightly nerve-racking condition, approximating the ideal, the mythic, the stuff of legend—so much scope for disappointment. But disappointment is a sentiment you’re highly unlikely to experience during a stay at Claridge’s, as CN Traveler. There’s something special about it, and it’s impossible to put your finger on exactly what it is. It’s from another time—the hotel dates back to 1812—but it wears the weight of its history lightly. Walking in doesn’t feel like entering a serious, stately institution; the silver and cream palate and the Art Deco flourishes are light and bright and a little bit whimsical. The guest list is a roll call of anyone you’ve ever had a crush on—take Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, for starters.
Claridge’s mightn’t have the staggering wow factor of a Dorchester or the imposing presence of the Ritz but remains a bastion of unadulterated English charm and decorum. Claridge’s faithful following don’t complain about extravagantly expensive suites. According to Luxury Launches, the Claridge’s spa mightn’t be a design sensation but it boasts the best celebrity masseuse in London. And yes, the service can often swing from the sublime to the ridiculous but never mind dahlin. We love Claridge’s anyway. It certainly has resisted the vulgarity that has infiltrated some of London’s other grand old hotels, which is why it ushers a more discrete breed of guest, “breeding” being the operative word. Yes, Claridge’s scores on breed if not on bread. But we’ll toast in anyway!

Rooms come in traditional or Art Deco style—the latter are much more fun and in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The smallest category, the superior queen rooms, come in a navy and taupe color scheme and are full of interesting flourishes—stepped headboards, Art Deco lamps —but don’t have space for a desk. If you can stretch to a suite, those designed by David Linley or Diane Von Fustenberg are the ones to ask for.
Claridge's offers 190 accommodations with minibars and safes. Each accommodation is individually furnished and decorated. Beds feature premium bedding. LED televisions come with satellite channels and pay movies. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations, bathrobes, slippers, and designer toiletries.
Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access. Business-friendly amenities include desks, desk chairs, and phones. Additionally, rooms include complimentary newspapers and complimentary bottled water. In-room massages, hypo-allergenic bedding, and irons/ironing boards can be requested. A nightly turndown service is provided and housekeeping is offered daily. Recreational amenities at the hotel include a 24-hour health club.
8. The Ritz Paris in France: 74,864 hashtags
The Ritz Paris is one of the most famous hotels in the world. Since it opened in 1898, it has set the bar for luxury and excellence in hotelkeeping, standards that it continues to deliver and uphold today. In 2010, it gained “palace hotel” status – placing it among the finest in Paris.
Located in Paris' 1er arrondissement within walking distance of the Place Vendôme and the Palais Garnier, the historic Ritz Paris invites guests in with its top-notch service and upscale, 18th-century Parisian design. Guest rooms – or apartments, as they're called by this hotel – feature neutral color palettes with gold accents, chandeliers and fireplaces, while standard suites offer additional living space.
The Ritz Paris is located in the city’s very heart, the northwest corner of the Place Vendôme in the 1st arrondissement – the famous 18th century square and the site of the Vendôme column, erected by Napoleon I to commemorate the Battle of Austerlitz. As Business Class reported, it is the starting point for the upscale shopping avenue of the rue de la Paix, which then leads onto the place de l’Opéra and the Palais Garnier, around a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The Opéra metro station is about a seven-minute walk away whilst the Tuileries Gardens, Galeries Lafayette, the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay are around fifteen minutes’ walk away. A transfer from Charles de Gaulle Airport takes around 35 minutes’ drive by limousine.

According to US News, if you desire views of the surrounding city, upgrade to one of the property's Prestige Suites. Each honors a Parisian landmark, time period or well-known individual. Noteworthy suites include the Suite Impériale, which is listed as a historic monument, and the Suite Coco Chanel, the former Parisian home of the famous designer. After settling into your accommodations, previous guests recommend grabbing a cocktail in Bar Hemingway or a meal at L'Espadon. You can also take a pastry or gastronomy course through the hotel's cooking school. Or, if you'd rather lounge poolside or relax during a massage, visit the Ritz Club Paris spa. Part of The Leading Hotels of the World, the property participates in the Leaders Club loyalty program.
What We Love Le Table de L’Espadon: with two Michelin stars, Chef Nicolas Sale has created a menu that is on par with the room that the restaurant sits in – superb! You feel like you are in a fairy tale. When it reopens, it is certainly worth a visit. Pool: the largest swimming pool in Paris. 800,000 individual mosaic tiles were hand-laid – creating one of the greatest hotel piscines in the world. Elegance: Paris offers many contemporary hotels but if it is a classical, palace hotel you are looking for, then The Ritz is for you. You truly feel like royalty staying here from the public spaces to your guestroom. |
9. Niyama in the Maldives: 69,595 hashtags
Landing in the seaplane at the Niyama dock was like stepping onto the movie set of Avatar. The teal blue water extended as far as the eye could see and in the middle of that teal were the lush islands of Niyama Private Islands. With staff members waving us onto the property, we deplaned and were greeted with delicious cold beverages and scented towels. We found paradise yet again. Niyama was an incredible treat, so read on to find out what we loved.
According to Voyagerguru, it really is difficult to go wrong in the Maldives, with the stunning, never-ending lagoons and picture-perfect white sand beaches and Niyama was no different. Niyama is made up of two islands: Play and Chill. Our Beach Villa with a pool was beautifully situated on the “chill” island, a slightly quieter side with nothing but the white sand and blue waters outside our door. “Play” and “Chill” are connected by a short bridge and both sides are equally beautiful. The “Play” side had the majority of the restaurants and water sports areas, whereas “Chill” was made up mostly of the villas and over-water bungalows. I don’t believe you can go wrong with either side.

Couples tend to book a pavilion set out over the water, like the expansive Deluxe Water Studio, with spacious living areas, private pools and stunning views of the Indian Ocean seascape. Families often choose private pools and exclusive beach access in the Beach Pavilions or the Beach Residences, which have private dining alcoves and large living areas.
The Ocean Pavilions with Private Pool promise the ultimate treat. This category offers a whopping 350 sqm, packed with features and gadgets, as Travel Plus Style reported.
With 9 restaurants, we could have stayed at Niyama forever. We thoroughly enjoyed every single experience we had here, from the poolside lunch at Blu, to treetop dining at Nest to the underwater experience at Subsix. The dining here was incredibly unique. Every restaurant offered something completely different, which made it such a unique experience.
If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a good cocktail, you cannot skip the rum bar at the Surf Shack. They play reggae music and serve dangerously good rum cocktails as the sun is setting over the horizon in the distance. The theme was so thorough that the bartenders even had rasta dreads!
