The ranking is based on each state’s voters’ approval of their governor’s job performance.
Responses to the poll were gathered, among registered voters in each state, with margins of error of up to plus or minus 4 percent. The poll found that nine of the 10 most popular governors are Republicans.

Who is The Most Popular Governor In America?
Vermont Governor Phil Scott, who run for Senate in 2022, is the most popular governor, according to a fresh poll.
In Vermont, 79 percent of registered voters approved of Scott’s job performance in the third quarter of 2021, making him the most popular governor in the country.
With ratings like that, the Republican governor could make a race for Senate in a deep blue state such as Vermont competitive.
However, Scott spokesman Jason Maulucci said the governor “has been clear that he will not be running for the U.S. Senate in 2022, and that has not changed” — even if Senate Republican strategists in Washington are still hoping for his candidacy.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown Is Least Popular Governor in America
The ranking showed that Brown’s approval rating from Oregonians is just 43%—the lowest of any governor in the nation.
There was a time when a governor’s popularity correlated closely to the economy.
According to recent polling by his company, DHM Research's John Horvick of Portland, similar levels of unhappiness with Brown were discovered. According to Horvick, "her numbers are as bad as Trump's were under his presidency." Of course, the epidemic and the resulting health, social, and economic disruptions have had a negative impact on every state. Brown's ratings are so low, according to Horvick, but he's not completely sure why.
Voters are upset about violence and homelessness, according to Horvick. Voters, in my opinion, believe that someone needs to be held accountable since there is a lot of disorder and destruction in the world.
According to Charles Boyle, the governor's spokesman, Brown is more concerned with servicing her citizens than she is with poll numbers.
