‘The Kissing Booth 3’: Release Date, Trailer, Plot and Cast
The Kissing Booth 3 is an upcoming Netflix Original teen-drama and the third installment of The Kissing Booth franchise. Vince Marcello returns to direct the film and Ed Glauser will produce. Joey King, who portrays Elle Evans in the films will also be serving as an executive producer.
The Kissing Booth 3 may have already been filmed, but fans—and hate watchers and die-hard Jacob Elordi fans—have been waiting with bated breath for an official release date. Finally, we have official info about when the next film in one of Netflix's most popular franchises is set to premiere.
The Kissing Booth 3: Release date on Netflix
After Netflix announced The Kissing Booth 3 was officially happening during its live panel in July 2020, fans have been anxiously awaiting news on when the third film in the franchise would arrive on Netflix.
Months later during the 2020 People’s Choice Awards, King confirmed many fans’ suspicions when she revealed The Kissing Booth 3 would be coming in summer 2021. With a target window set, all eyes have been on Netflix for confirmation on when exactly during the summer months the film would release and in late April we finally received the news we had all been waiting for.
In announcing its 2021 summer movie slate, Netflix revealed The Kissing Booth 3 will be coming on Wednesday, August 11. The early August release date is slightly later than anticipated — The Kissing Booth dropped in May 2018 while The Kissing Booth 2 arrived in July 2020 — we’re just happy to finally have an official release date for the third film!

The Kissing Booth 3: Plot
If the sequel's ending didn't make it clear, the third movie's synopsis confirms that it'll revolve around Elle's major decision:
"It's the summer before Elle heads to college, and she has a secret decision to make. She has been accepted into Harvard, where her boyfriend Noah is matriculating, and also Berkeley, where her BFF Lee is headed. Which path should she choose?"
But where will she choose? Elle managed to patch things up with Lee after lying to him about applying elsewhere, but can her relationship with Noah survive if she doesn't go to Harvard?
Talking about the cliffhanger ending, Joey King said: "She's really good at getting herself into a pickle, that's for sure...
"Elle has a lot of figuring out to do, and she figures out a lot during this movie. And then, in the end, she gives herself even more figuring out to do, which is crazy. We don't know what's going to happen... I don't know why she does that."
Elordi added: "She's scared to tell either of them because it's such a difficult decision. She probably feels a lot of pressure from both parties, which is just unfortunate."
There is a Kissing Booth novella written by Beth Reekles called Road Trip, but unfortunately for fans, it takes place during the timeline of the sequel, so there are no answers to be found there.

Reekles has yet to release a third Kissing Booth book, so fans face an agonizing wait to see if Elle chooses Harvard to be with Noah, or Berkeley to deliver on her promise to Lee.

The Kissing Booth 3: Cast
The Kissing Booth 3 cast will be very similar to The Kissing Booth 2 cast. Of course, Joey King will be back as Elle Evans, and King will be joined by Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, and Meganne Young, who we all see in the exclusive clip from The Kissing Booth 3.
We also know that Molly Ringwald, Taylor Zahkar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellars, and more will be back in the third movie. Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed the identities of any major new cast additions.

The Kissing Booth 3 has already been filmed
Anyone with fears that the coronavirus could delay filming for The Kissing Booth 3 will be at ease as the film has already been filmed in secret! The cast and crew were successfully able to keep secret for over a year that The Kissing Booth 3 was filmed in secret while they were also filming The Kissing Booth 2. All that’s left is any post-production and then extensive marketing for the upcoming teen drama.
Can we expect to see another book from Beth Reekles?
In total, Beth Reekles has written four The Kissing Booth novels:
1. The Kissing Booth (2012)
2. The Kissing Booth: The Beach House (2019)
3. The Kissing Booth: Road Trip! (2020)
4. The Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance (2020)
If Beth Reekles is writing The Kissing Booth 3 novel, we won’t see its arrival until 2021 when the film drops.
