What is the format for Super Rugby Pacific?

Teams will play eight teams once, three teams twice, with a focus on derby encounters. There will be one points table, with teams ranked one through twelve based on competition points. The top eight clubs on the points table will advance to a three-week playoff format.

The new competition structure will see the five New Zealand franchises play eight matches apiece. They'll play four at home and four away, with two byes. Two games will be played each week, with kickoffs at 7:05pm on Saturday and 3:35pm on Sunday local time (5:05pm AEST and 1:35pm AEST).

The Auckland Blues advanced to an all-Kiwi final against the Christchurch Crusaders after defeating the ACT Brumbies 20-19 in the second Super Rugby Pacific semifinal on Saturday.

The Crusaders surged past the Queensland Reds in their quarterfinal in Christchurch on Friday night, winning 37-15.

Openside flanker Ethan Blackadder's shoulder injury has eliminated his chances of continuing in the playoffs, and he is anticipated to be replaced by Tom Christie on the scrum side in the semi-final.

The victory at Orangetheory Stadium was the Crusaders' 12th of the season. The return of first five-eighth Richie Mo'unga, who had been out for two weeks, gave a wealth of experience in that position, and he was outstanding off the tee.

Never underestimate how important this can be in sudden-death football; he kicked four conversions, three penalties, and scored a try.

Do you hear that grinding, grunting, and hissing sound? That's the Blues machine thundering into their Auckland citadel. Get out of the way swiftly and instruct your children to hide.

The Blues have fourteen wins and only one loss as they prepare for the semifinals.

Eden Park used to be as frightening as visiting a cabbage paddock. Now, opposing teams are afraid to go there. And rightfully so. The Blues' 35-6 triumph over the Highlanders in the quarterfinals on Saturday night demonstrated how much turmoil their attack can produce.

The Highlanders were at a numerical disadvantage for 20 minutes due to hooker Andrew Makalio's red card, which was clearly harmful, but the Blues still had work to do, and when their passing game connected, they dazzled.
