How to Watch CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying

Select CONMEBOL qualifying matches will air on fuboTV’s free linear network, Fubo Sports Network (three channels, English-language programming), while the majority will be on the newly launched CONMEBOL Qualifiers Network.

To access every match, new subscribers can sign-up for the “CONMEBOL & More” package ($6.99 a month), which includes the same channels as in the “International Sports Plus” package. You can access it with a 7-Day Free Trial.

Those who subscribed to the Latino Quarterly plan ($33 a month, paid quarterly) after February 17, 2021, will automatically receive CONMEBOL coverage. However, those who signed up before then, will need to add the CONMEBOL y Más channel package for access to the CONMEBOL Qualifiers Network.

Watch the matches to see head-to-head between Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Peru.

Soccer icons Carlos Valderrama (Colombia national team), Juan Pablo Ángel (Colombia national team), Mark González (Liverpool, Chile national team, among others) and Lucas Barrios (Paraguay national team), as well as rising media star Antonella González, will join a star-studded lineup that includes previously-announced legends Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City and Argentina national team) and Melissa Ortiz (Colombia women’s national team) as hosts of fuboTV’s original programming. More soccer stars will join fubo’s programming as guest commentators throughout the tournament.

Additionally, Fubo Sports Network’s popular hosts, Julie Stewart-Binks (“Drinks With Binks” and “Ball Is Back”) and The Cooligans (“The Cooligans”), will present “CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers Preview,” a show dedicated to previewing each matchday.

FIFA World Cup 2022 Live on US TVAfter holding the English language broadcasting right of the WC games in United States for 20 years since 1994 to 2014 Brazil World Cup, ABC was replaced by FOX Sports network for the 2018 Russia WC. FOX acquired the right for next 3 editions, starting in 2018 which will come to an end after 2026 edition. Thus FOX Sports will continue to broadcast the 2022 WC games in US. Just like the English language broadcasting, there has been a change in the Spanish language broadcaster channel in 2018. NBC’s Telemundo gained the right for the 2018, 2022 and 2026 edition which means the Spanish language users within the US territory will have to keep their eyes on Telemundo to enjoy the actions live in their language. Telemundo’s sister channel Universo is also expected to televise some of the fixtures. Meanwhile, NBCSN will simulcast the select matches. These channels too are pretty much familiar and will be available through majority of the cable TV providers as well as Dish Network and DirecTV satellites.

Qualification process

All FIFA member associations, of which there are currently 211, are eligible to enter qualification. Qatar, as hosts, qualified automatically for the tournament. However, Qatar was obliged by the AFC to participate in the Asian qualifying stage as the first two rounds also acted as qualification for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. Qatar won their group so the fifth-best group runners-up advanced instead. For the first time after the initial two tournaments of 1930 and 1934, the World Cup will be hosted by a country whose national team has never played a finals match before. The reigning World Cup champions France also participate in qualifying as normal. Saint Lucia initially entered qualification in the CONCACAF zone, but later withdrew from the competition. North Korea withdrew from the qualifying round due to safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The allocation of slots for each confederation was discussed by the FIFA Executive Committee on 30 May 2015 in Zürich after the FIFA Congress. The committee decided that the same allocation used in 2006, 2010 and 2014 would be kept for the 2018 and 2022 tournaments:

AFC (Asia): 4 or 5

CAF (Africa): 5

CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean): 3 or 4

CONMEBOL (South America): 4 or 5

OFC (Oceania): 0 or 1

UEFA (Europe): 13

Hosts: 1
