How to Watch the CW From Anywhere

The CW started life in 2006 as a merger between two existing networks. Though it struggled a bit in the beginning, its now become a mainstay of the entertainment world, producing shows like Jane the Virgin, a very contemporary take on the telenovela, and The 100, a post-apocalyptic series with more twists than a mountain road, Cloudwards cites
However, the biggest selling points for the CW are Riverdale, a teenage angst-ridden take on the Archie comics which we’ve honored with its very own guide on how to watch Riverdale, and the Arrowverse. This last term is a catch-all for a number of shows set in the DC Universe, such as The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and, of course, the one that started it all, Arrow.
While it's super simple to access The CW from the US, though, you might run into problems if you're outside the States – even if you regularly watch it back home. So, here we'll explain exactly how to watch The CW in the UK, and anywhere else in the world.

How to watch The CW in the US
If you're in the USA, it couldn't be easier to watch The CW.
Anyone with a computer or mobile device can access the network's wide free selection by heading over to The CW website, and simply choosing a show to watch. There's no sign-up, and no credit card payments to make. On a mobile device, you might prefer to use The CW's app – but no matter which way you choose, it's simple and free, reported Tom's Guide.
If you want to watch The CW live on your TV, however, you may need to sign up to a streaming service. Our top choice would be Fubo.TV thanks to its great selection of other channels and keen pricing, but The CW is also carried by AT&T TV Now, YouTube TV, and Hulu with Live TV.

How to watch The CW in the UK
All the content that The CW produces can be found on their homepage. You can browse all their current shows with the latest episodes, as well as those that have previously aired if you’re looking to binge something from the start, Tech Advisor cites.

Unlike watching HBO, The CW on-demand service is free to watch and requires no need to enter your personal details and sign up - so all you need to do is know how to bypass the site’s geo-targeting blockers, which stops people from outside of the US accessing the site altogether.
To do that, you’ll need the help of one of our recommended VPNs. Using a VPN basically means that you’ll be blocking your IP address, which allows you to browse the web as if you’re in another country. To watch The CW, you’ll need to connect to a US server, and once you’ve done that you should be able to access the site.
Our top VPN pick is NordVPN, which offers over 3000 servers and is very reasonably priced. ExpressVPN is also a strong option but isn’t as cheap as NordVPN. If you’d like to see some more VPN providers, then check out our rankings of the different VPNs.

If you don’t want to pay for this service, then we do have a list of free VPNs available. However, the paid versions are a lot more secure and reliable to use. The free versions will come with limited server options, data caps, and slower speeds which will make your user experience a lot less friendly - so keep this in mind.
Once you've activated your VPN and signed onto a US server, simply visit the site, click on the show of your choice and start watching! You will have to sit through some US advertisements, but that’s a small price to pay for accessing your favorite content.
Watch the CW App
To find the CW app, simply go to the website and go to the “apps” tab. There you’ll find a whole bunch of devices you can install the app on. Click the one you want and you’re off to the races. You’ll notice, though, that the app can’t be installed on desktop OSes, which is a bit of a pain if all you have is a laptop and a phone (like yours truly).
For this article, we installed the CW app on an Android smartphone and messed around with it. It looks pretty good, though it probably looks better on your smart TV or tablet.
It’s a very easy-to-use app, overall, and we very much recommend it, especially as it’s free. The ads can be annoying, but it’s nothing as bad as, say, with sites like PutLocker and the like (read our guide on how to watch The Wire for another program that’s on PutLocker).

However, much like the CW site, the app is region-locked, so you’re going to need a VPN to access it from outside of the United States. A quick test shows that any of the best VPN services will do the trick, though, as the CW doesn’t seem to take this too seriously.
Installing the app from outside the U.S. is a different matter, though, as the Google Play Store isn’t going to let some VPN fool it. We ended up downloading an APK from this site but it is one of those “at your own risk” deals. That said, so far the APK has given us no problems.

If all this messing about with sites, subscriptions, apps, and APKs seems like too much trouble, there is one last way in which you can watch many, though not all, CW shows, and that’s via European Netflix. The EU version of the popular streaming site has licenses for a whole bunch of CW content, including most of the Arrowverse.
