Jordan Maciel, Austria reporter: Captain Julian Baumgartlinger is racing against the clock to be fit for the opening fixture, while Daniel Bachmann's confirmation as first-choice goalkeeper finally gives Foda stability at the back. The big call is in attack, where the experienced Marko Arnautović is pitted against the in-form Sasa Kalajdzic.

Livaković; Vrsaljko, Ćaleta-Car, Vida, Gvardiol; Brozović; Kramarić, Modrić, Kovačić, Perišić; Rebić

Elvir Islamović, Croatia reporter: Dejan Lovren has not recovered from a knee injury and will miss the opening match. Zlatko Dalić is still thinking over his starting XI, but the latest suggestion is that Bruno Petković and Borna Barišić will drop out, with 19-year-old Joško Gvardiol coming in at left-back, Andrej Kramarić starting on the right wing and Ante Rebić operating as a lone striker instead of Petković.

Czech Republic Team News and Predictions

Vaclík; Coufal, Čelůstka, Kalas, Bořil; Souček, Král; Masopust, Darida, Jankto; Schick

Ondřej Zlámal, Czech Republic reporter: Jaroslav Šilhavý has a centre-back spot to nail down and a place in midfield to fill after Slavia Praha's Lukáš Provod was ruled out. I reckon he'll keep faith with the side that navigated them through qualifying.

Pickford; Walker, Stones, Mings, Chilwell; Phillips, Rice; Sterling, Mount, Foden; Kane

Simon Hart, England reporter: Will Gareth Southgate revert to a back three or persist with a more expansive 4-3-3? Is there room for Jack Grealish? Are Harry Maguire and/or Jordan Henderson fit? How close is the precocious Jude Bellingham to a starting berth? Does Raheem Sterling have enough credit in the bank to play? A number of question marks remain.

France Team News and Predictions

Opening game: France vs Germany (15 June)

Lloris; Pavard, Varane, Kimpembe, Hernández; Kanté, Pogba, Rabiot, Griezmann; Benzema, Mbappé

David Crossan, France reporter: Neither Karim Benzema nor Antoine Griezmann took part in squad training on Friday. The Real Madrid forward went off against Bulgaria on Tuesday with a knock, while the Barcelona attacker has been nursing a left calf problem. Benzema's club-mate Raphaël Varane was rested from training on Friday following a heavy workload but there are no injury concerns for the defender.

Germany Team News and Predictions

Opening game: France vs Germany (15 June)

Neuer; Ginter, Hummels, Rüdiger; Kimmich, Gündoğan, Kroos, Gosens; Havertz, Müller, Gnabry

Philip Röber, Germany reporter: The quality available in central midfield is a luxury which may lead Joachim Löw to field Joshua Kimmich at right-back or right wingback, a position where Germany have struggled in recent matches. Returnees Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller are guaranteed starters, but there may not be space for Timo Werner and Leroy Sané.

Hungary Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Hungary vs Portugal (15 June)

Gulácsi; Fiola, Orbán, Attila Szalai; Lovrencsics, Kleinheisler, Ádám Nagy, Schäfer, Holender; Roland Sallai, Ádám Szalai

Andy Clark, Hungary reporter: The key questions are how Marco Rossi will compensate for the absences of creative midfielders Zsolt Kalmár and Dominik Szoboszlai, who joins Willi Orbán and Attila Szalai in defence, and who fills the right wing-back position. Expect Roland Sallai to be fine despite missing recent friendlies.

Italy Team News and Predictions

Matchday 2: Italy vs Switzerland (16 June)

Predicted line-up to follow.

Matchday 1: Turkey 0-3 Italy (11 June)

Starting line-up: Donnarumma; Florenzi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Locatelli; Berardi, Immobile, Insigne

Opening game: Netherlands vs Ukraine (13 June)

Stekelenburg; Dumfries, Timber, De Vrij, Blind, Wijndal; F. de Jong, De Roon, Wijnaldum; Depay, Weghorst

North Macedonia Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Austria vs North Macedonia (13 June)

Dimitrievski; Ristovski, Musliu, Velkovski, Alioski; Ademi, Nikolov, Bardi; Elmas, Pandev, Trajkovski

Poland Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Poland vs Slovakia (14 June)

Szczęsny; Piątkowski, Glik, Bednarek, Bereszyński; Krychowiak, Klich, Zieliński, Puchacz; Jóźwiak, Lewandowski

Piotr Koźmiński, Poland reporter: Paulo Sousa has experimented in the lead-up to the tournament, and the loss of forwards Krzysztof Piątek and Arkadiusz Milik to injury has caused a real headache. But Robert Lewandowski is still there and, as always, his role will be crucial.

Portugal Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Hungary vs Portugal (15 June)

Rui Patrício; João Cancelo, Rúben Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro; Danilo, William, Bruno Fernandes; Bernardo Silva, Ronaldo, Diogo Jota

Carlos Machado, Portugal reporter: Fernando Santos is likely to want to take the game to Hungary. My only question mark is in midfield, where Rúben Neves may play instead of Danilo.

Russia Team News and Predictions

Matchday 2: Finland vs Russia (16 June)

Predicted line-up to follow.

Matchday 1: Belgium 3-0 Russia (12 June)

Starting line-up: Shunin; Mário Fernandes, Semenov, Dzhikiya, Zhirkov; Ozdoev, Barinov; Zobnin, Golovin, Kuzyaev; Dzyuba

Scotland Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Scotland vs Czech Republic (14 June)

Marshall; Hendry, Hanley, Tierney; O'Donnell, McTominay, McGregor, McGinn, Robertson; Dykes, Adams

Alex O'Henley, Scotland reporter: Steve Clarke won't deviate too much from the personnel who got Scotland to the finals. His dilemmas will be who plays right-sided centre-back and does he start with two up front?

Slovakia Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Poland vs Slovakia (14 June)

Dúbravka; Pekarík, Šatka, Škriniar, Hubočan; Kucka, Hromada; Haraslín, Hamšík, Mak; Duda

Rastislav Hribik, Slovakia reporter: There are many young players waiting in the wings as coach Štefan Tarkovič considers his starting line-up. Meanwhile, Marek Hamšík has had injury issues in the last month and his fitness is undeniably key.

Spain Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Spain vs Sweden (14 June)

Unai Simón: Azpilicueta, Laporte, Pau Torres, Alba: Llorente, Rodri, Pedri: Gerard Moreno, Morata, Ferran Torres

Graham Hunter, Spain reporter: So many enigmas. An eon since Spain went to a tournament unsure which of their three keepers should start. No Sergio Ramos means huge responsibility on the centre-backs, whether Aymeric Laporte and Pau Torres start or 20-year-old Eric García gets the nod. But they're talented, and they believe.

Sweden Team News and Predictions

Opening game: Spain vs Sweden (14 June)

Olsen; Lustig, Lindelöf, Danielson, Augustinsson; S. Larsson, Ekdal, Olsson, Forsberg; Isak, Berg

Sujay Dutt, Sweden reporter: It's more difficult than usual coming into a final tournament to predict Sweden's starting XI, especially the midfield. Against Spain, the experience of Albin Ekdal, Sebastien Larsson and Emil Forsberg could prove vital, while 21-year-old Alexander Isak ought to provide freshness up front.

Switzerland Team News and Predictions

Matchday 2: Italy vs Switzerland (16 June)

Predicted line-up to follow.

Starting line-up: Sommer; Elvedi, Schär, Akanji; Mbabu, Xhaka, Freuler, Rodríguez; Shaqiri; Embolo, Seferović

Bushchan; Karavaev, Zabarnyi, Matviyenko, Mykolenko; Zinchenko, Sydorchuk, Malinovskyi; Yarmolenko, Yaremchuk, Zubkov

Bogdan Buga, Ukraine reporter: A year ago, the side would have picked itself. Now, Andriy Shevchenko is spoilt for choice in almost every department, starting with competition between Andriy Pyatov and Georgiy Bushchan in goal. In central defence, Illia Zabarnyi, Serhiy Kryvtsov and Mykola Matviyenko are all potential starters. Out wide, Andriy Yarmolenko, Oleksandr Zubkov, Marlos and Viktor Tsygankov (currently recovering from an ankle injury) are vying for two spots.
