The Bahrain Grand Prix, which takes place in Bahrain on Saturday, March 2, 2024, will kick off the Formula One season.
Pre-season testing in Bahrain concluded last Friday, and teams have spent the last month launching and testing their new vehicles.
This year promises to be a record number of races as well. China and Imola, which were canceled last year, are back on the schedule, meaning there will be 24 race weekends from February to December.![]() |
Formula 1 Calendar 2024 - Drivers, List of Races, Dates, Locations |
The calendar doesn't include any new races, but China returns. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, there hasn't been a race.
The Grands Prix of the Netherlands and Belgium will return in July and August, respectively, on the schedule. For a long time, there was doubt regarding the race at Spa-Francorchamps. The Ardennes Circuit race will be back on the F1 schedule next year, despite the F1 executives' strong desire for a race to take place in South Africa.
Two Saturday races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will open the season in March. There will be three test days in February. There is also a Saturday for the GP of Las Vegas. The season ends on December 8th, which is rather late, and there is a noticeable big space in the calendar for October.
Among the other noteworthy adjustments is the advancement of the Japan Grand Prix. This race has routinely taken place in October in recent years, a month when the hurricane season tends to bring less favorable weather. The GP of Singapore is now merged with the GP of Azerbaijan later in the year, following the opposite path.
With back-to-back races in Bahrain on March 2 and Saudi Arabia on March 9, the season once again gets underway in the Middle East. Because of Ramadan, they will both happen on a Saturday in 2024.
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is on July 7, and for the first time since 2019, the season's fifth round will take place in China. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 8 will mark the conclusion of the season.
Six Sprint weekends will take place at the Grands Prix in China, Miami, Austria, the United States, Sao Paulo, and Qatar once more.
