Acorn TV in March 2024: Highlights for Series

Season 3 of the Acorn TV Original series The Madame Blanc Mysteries and Season 17 of the Acorn TV exclusive series Murdoch Mysteries are among the highlights.

Winter, This Is Going to Hurt, Total Control, The Man Who Died, Significant Others, new episodes of The Graham Norton Show Season 31, and more are all on the horizon.

The Madame Blanc Mysteries Season 3

The third season of "The Madame Blanc Mysteries" has concluded in the UK and will premiere on Acorn TV on Monday.

Since the third full season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries was renewed, fans had been anticipating watching Jean White attempt to unravel yet another series of enigmas and murders in Sainte Victoire.

Season 3 of The Madame Blanc Mysteries will premiere on Channel 5 on Thursday, January 4 at 9 p.m., following the 2023 Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas special. Every week, new episodes air; the penultimate, fifth episode is scheduled to air on Thursday, February 1 at 9 p.m.

Additionally, the Acorn TV international release date has finally been confirmed.On Monday, February 19, the third season of Madame Blanc Mysteries will debut with two episodes, while the remaining episodes of the show will air every week.

Of course, The Madame Blanc Mysteries wouldn't exist without Jean White, and for the third time, Sally Lindsay made a reappearance as the knowledgeable antique dealer turned mystery solver.

Moreover, co-writer Sue Vincent played mechanic Gloria Beauchamp, Alex Gaumond played Police Chief André Caron, Sue Holderness and Robin Askwith as wealthy bon-vivants Judith and Jeremy Lloyd James, and Steve Edge made a comeback as local taxi driver Dom Hayes.

In addition, Paul Chuckle made a reappearance for an episode in the role of Gloria's Uncle Trevor, and Tony Robinson, who debuted in the 2022 Christmas special, returned to the show in a recurring capacity as Dom's light-fingered Uncle Patrick. Jacqueline Berces as Gendarme Richard, Avant Strangel as Cooper, Gloria's boyfriend, Sanchia McCormack as Charlie, Jean's business partner, and Djinda Kane as Charlie's wife Simone were also returning for multiple episodes.

In the third series, Lisa Faulkner, Julie Graham, Karen Bryson, Lisa Maxwell, Ellen Thomas, and Sanjeev Kohli were among the other guest stars.

Murdoch Mysteries season 17

After a staggering 263 episodes and three specials to date, the 17th season of the venerable Canadian drama series Murdoch Mysteries is set to premiere in the UK.

The upcoming season of Alibis will allow viewers in the UK to finally catch up with Detective William Murdoch's most recent cases, as it began airing in Canada in 2023.

Naturally, Yannick Bisson, Hélène Joy, Thomas Craig, and Jonny Harris are back for another season. However, when will the new episodes premiere, and who else is starring in this season's cast?

Murdoch Mysteries Season 17 will launch on Saturday, February 10 on Ovation's linear channel, where it will air every week. Additionally, the season will be available for streaming on Acorn TV beginning on Monday, February 26, with a two-part premiere on Monday, February 26 and weekly episodes thereafter, through the end of July 2024.

As usual, Bisson, Élène Joy as Dr. Julia Ogden, Thomas Craig as Inspector Thomas Brackenreid, and Johnny Harris as Constable George Crabtree make up the main cast of Murdoch Mysteries. Lachlan Murdoch as Constable Henry Higgins, Arwen Humphreys as Margaret Brackenreid, Daniel Maslany as Det. Llewellyn Watts, Shanice Banton as Violet Hart, Clare McConnell as Effie Newsome, Bea Santos as Louise Cherry, Samantha Walkes as Cassiopeia Bright, Mark Taylor as Isaiah Buchanan, and Kenzie Delo as Constable Tucker are among the other recurring cast members. This season, Michael Seater, a former recurring actor, serves as James Gillies' guest star.

Author Maureen Jennings, whose Detective Murdoch novels the show is based on, is one of this season's writers. Other returning writers are Peter Mitchell, Noelle Girard, Simon McNabb, Jenny Lee, Caleigh Bacchus, and Andrea Scott. Additionally, for the first time, writer Keri Ferencz joins the group. With director Eleanore Lindo joining the roster, Bisson once again gets to helm an episode alongside regular helmers Laurie Lynd, Gloria Ui Young Kim, Yuri Yakubiw, Sharon Lewis, and Katie Boland. Executive producers of the series are Bisson, Joy, Mitchell, Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Noel Hedges, and the CBC, as usual.

The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 10 (Acorn TV Exclusive) – New Season Premiere Monday, April 29

Detectives Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea), Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland), and Daniel Chalmers (Jarod Rawiri) continue to struggle with Brokenwood's startling murder rate in the show's tenth anniversary season. They employ a variety of unusual techniques, assisted by their inquisitive pathologist Dr. Gina Kadinsky (Cristina Ionda), to solve the more bizarre and macabre crimes in the town.

This season's homicides capture the eccentric spirit of New Zealand's deadliest town, with tales ranging from a vicious murder with a Jurassic twist to a creepy crime scene amid the Day of the Dead, a lovesick dentist, and a vicious visit to a House of Horrors.

Harry Wild Season 3 (Acorn TV Original) – New Season Premieres in May

Harry (Jane Seymour) and Fergus (Rohan Nedd) need to figure out how to balance work and life because the agency is still extremely busy. They take on a number of cases, such as the murder of a despotic director on the set of a well-known daytime soap opera, the unexplained death of the lead singer of the sexiest boy band, and the investigation of the manner in which a mystery writer shot himself in a locked panic room without a gun.

Nearer to home, Harry receives a call for assistance from a close friend when her husband, who has been estranged, is found dead in her fishpond. In another scene, Glenn (Paul Tylak) decides it's time to ask his longtime girlfriend to marry him, and love is in the air. While Fergus and Lola (Rose O'Neill) experience a rough start to their relationship, Harry meets a charming fellow private investigator and finds herself falling in love with him despite the fact that she finds him completely annoying.
