5. Best Specialty Food Festival: Picklesburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Every summer, it grows to be a massive dill. Picklesburgh has previously been named the nation's best specialty food festival, as well as the only one to feature an extremely large Heinz pickle balloon.
Picklesburgh is a free culinary event presented by Heinz that features international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs featuring house-cured pickled vegetables; how-to demonstrations highlighting the farm-to-table movement and canning; fun pickle-themed merchandise, live music, a kids area, and a competitive pickle juice drinking contest.

Each festival has its own set of guidelines, but we'll go over some general guidelines that we apply to all group events.
-Layer your clothing. Temperatures fluctuate during festivals, which typically last all day (if not longer). Layers allow you to easily adjust to stay comfortable.

-Prepare for any type of weather. We've attended several festivals where it rained. If there is a chance of rain, bring a raincoat. This jacket is excellent for both warmth and rain.
