The second game in Group C at the World Cup sees Mexico face Poland on Tuesday, November 22.
It is the first match of the tournament that will be played at Stadium 974 in Doha and the game kicks off at 4pm GMT (11am EST, 10am CST & 5pm CET) which equates to 7pm local time.
Robert Lewandowski is dreaming of scoring at a World Cup for the first time in a stark warning to Poland’s opening Group C opponents Mexico.
Two super animals who are well-known for their predictions over football games have made predictions for Mexico vs Poland.
Super Turtle chooses Mexico
Three pieces of star-shaped food are presented in front of Super Turtle to invite him to make prediction. A win for Mexico, a draw or a win for Poland: what do you choose?
He didn’t hesitate to pick the star on the left which represents Mexico. Then he ate it all. A win for Mexico!
Mexico are heading into their eighth consecutive World Cup appearance, having been eliminated at the last 16 stage in each of their last seven entries. Mexico are ranked 13 places higher than Poland in the latest FIFA rankings so it is easy to understand that Mexico is predicted to win this match.
However, analysis made by experts show Poland have a 35% chance of winning, compared to 35.1% for Mexico, with the draw predicted at a 29.2% likelihood.

Mexico and Poland: Team News
Mexico were one of the final teams to submit their 26-man squad for the World Cup. The big news regards the inclusion of Raul Jimenez despite his lack of fitness, and form, at Wolves.
The likes of Edson Alvarez — who was of interest to Chelsea during the summer transfer window — and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano will be the star players to look out for in the squad.
As for Poland, there are no doubts over which of their players should be watched very closely by opponents. Robert Lewandowski’s record over the last decade or so speaks for itself and any success the Poles are likely to have in Qatar will rest on his performances.
Another of Napoli’s stand-out players is also likely to be involved in this game as Piotr Zielinski has been selected in the Poland squad.

Expert opinion Even if we assume that Argentina will win Group C, the chance to progress is there for both Mexico and Poland – and this first match could easily be decisive. That alone is a reason why the contest between them might be cagey but other factors make it difficult to predict too. If styles make fights then these two teams are polar opposites. Mexico like to dominate possession but do not score or concede many goals. Poland are quite happy out of possession and scored for fun in qualifying. They will have the stand-out player on the pitch in Robert Lewandowski, looking for his first World Cup goal. |
