Antilia was designed by Chicago-based architects Perkins and Will, with the Australian-based construction company Leighton Holdings taking charge of its construction. Together they created a masterpiece. Antilia comprises the most extravagant amenities – a salon, movie theatre, ice cream parlour, among other amenities (swimming pool, gym, you know it). Which takes Antilia’s evaluation to a massive Rs 10,000 crores. Conceived by an award winning architectural firm and executed by renowned construction group, this over-arching building can survive an earthquake of 8 magnitudes on the Richter scale. Consisting of 27 inhabitable floors which equate to 40 storeys because of their exceedingly high ceilings, the Ambani mansion has over 600 staffers maintaining it, according to CulturalDigest-In.

Another tall, fancy, luxurious building in South Mumbai is Gautam Sanghania’s JK house. Claimed to have a valuation of around Rs 6000 crores, the property is the second-tallest private building in India, after Antilia. It is spread over 16,000 square feet and includes a residential space, office space and five floors reserved only to park the best cars in town. The expensive home also features a spa, two private swimming pools, a gym, a recreational area and even its own helipad.

The owner of this house is none other than the younger brother of the Business Tycoon Mukesh Ambani, yes we are talking about Anil Ambani. This property owned by KM Birla is over 30,000 square feet of pure luxury. Surrounded by lush green grass and a pond, this one is straight from the movies. It is reported to have 20 bedrooms, with wall cladding and ceilings made of Burma teakwood. It also boasts of a central courtyard and a garden that opens up to a pond. KM Birla purchased this house in 2015 for Rs 425 crore after outbidding five other bidders and offering a 10% token on the spot. It was also the biggest real estate deal India had seen, back then.

This three-story sea-faced bungalow that Sajjan Jindal purchased for Rs 400 crore was the most expensive real estate deal before KM Birla bought his house for Rs 425 crore. Jindal’s dream home in Mumbai is located at Napean Sea road and used to be the Belgian Consulate. It was then priced at Rs 125 crore. The Rs 300-crore increase in its price was one of the biggest mark-up the real estate world had seen.
