There is a woman behind every successful man. That old saying might or might not be true, but one thing is certain: behind every successful athlete is a woman, and in this case, a hot one. As long as sports have been around, the most attractive women have been drawn to people who play ball for a living. People often call these women WAGs, which stands for "wives and girlfriends."
The word was first used in Europe to describe people who are dating professional soccer players. It has since spread to the United States.
Some of the people on the list are famous just because of their last name, while others have made it big in modeling and acting. A few have even become more famous and wealthy than their male counterparts.
A lot of the couples we wrote about in this article are no longer together. They are still some of the hottest couples in sports, though, thanks to the stars' fame and the Wags' glitz.

Although she is often criticized for being too thin and loving the attention she gets from the media, Beckham's huge popularity and beauty make her the model all WAGs want to be like.
