The Most Educated States In The US By Proportion of Degree Holders |
More money is spent on education in the United States than in any other nation. In the US, there are authorized homeschooling programs in addition to public and private schools.
Education standards are set by state governments. Depending on the state, schooling is required from the age of five to eight to the age of sixteen to eighteen. Furthermore, states usually require K–12 public school systems to provide standardized assessments.
Both educational attainment and educational quality differ between the 50 states. In order to compare these two aspects, WalletHub used 20 distinct metrics, each of which had a score between 0 and 100, where 100 represented the "most educated." The categories of Educational Attainment and Quality of Education included the metrics. These indicators include the percentage of persons over 25 who have completed high school, some college, or at least a bachelor's degree, among others. They also contain information on the quality of public education systems, the public high school graduation rate, the enrollment of students in prestigious universities, the public college graduation rate, and more. The states were then ranked by taking the weighted average of all parameters for each state.
