Habitat 67 is a housing complex and model community in Montreal, Quebec. The project originally was the master thesis of Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie and built as a pavilion for the world fair in 1967.

The complex consists of some 350 identical prefabricated concrete cells arranged in diverse combinations reaching up to 12 stories in height. The units are joined together to form residences of various size, each having at least one private terrace. The central idea of the design was to combine the privileges of suburban living (i.e. private gardens, fresh air and privacy) with the density and location benefits of an urban apartment building.

The project became a landmark and helped launch Safdie's career, but largely failed in providing affordable alternative urban residences and was not replicated on a larger scale.

King Power MahaNakhon formerly known as MahaNakhon is a mixed-use skyscraper in the Silom/Sathon central business district of Bangkok, Thailand. It was opened in December 2016 It features the unconventional appearance of a glass curtain walled square tower with a cuboid-surfaced spiral cut into the side of the building Following transfer of the first residential units in April 2016, at 314.2 metres (1,031 ft) with 77 floors, it was recognized as the tallest building in Thailand on 4 May 2016 by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Ren Building is an attractively designed building in Shanghai. Copenhagen’s Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) proposed this striking design of this building replicating the Chinese character of Person to correspond with Shanghai’s “Better City, Better Life” 2010 World Expo. The project was proposed for a hotel, sports and conference centre. The building was visualized as two buildings blending into one. The first building that emerged from the water was dedicated to activities of the body and housed sports and water culture center. The other building that emerged from the land was dedicated to the spirit and enlightenment and housed a tastefully equipped conference center.

The strange call shaped Atomium building is situated in Brussels, capital city of Belgium. The 102 meters high Atomium was designed by Andre Waterkeyn, have shape of unit cell of Iron. The entire building was designed through stainless steel, by7 joining columns with clad spheres.

Designed by engineer Andre Waterkeyn and architects Andre and Jean Polak, this atom-inspired building was originally constructed for the 1958 Brussels World Fair. The structure, which was chosen to depict the enthusiasm of the Atomic Age, features nine connected stainless steel-clad spheres, six of which are accessible by the public. An engineering feat, the building contains the fastest elevator of all time (5m/s) and was originally designed to last only six months. It now serves as a museum.

La Pedrera building situated in the city of Barcelona in Spain. It took 6 years for the completion of this strange building starting in 1906. The Catalan architect Atoni Gaudi was the designer of this building, listed on UNESCO’s world heritage site.

The cave like balconies itself makes La Pedrera a strange looking building, have limestone facade. The roofs of this building decorated with pictures and postcards of Barcelona. The interior of the building also designed for bringing daylight, will also get stunning view of city from the top.

The flower-like-shaped lotus temple can be spotted in New Delhi, the capital of India. Lotus temple is considered as the mother temple of Indian subcontinent, can be visited by peoples from all religion. Inspired by lotus flower Architecture Fariborz Sahba was designed this beautiful building of India, which opened in the year 1986.

The free-standing petals is the main attraction of this temple, prefabricated by rock. The entire temple was made through Marble, dolomite and cement. The central hall of lotus temple capable of holding 2500 people at a time, have huge 9 doors. The ponds beside the temple make a feeling like the temple is floating just like that of lotus flower.

7. Dancing House, Czech Republic

Designed by the Croation-Czech architect Vlado Milunic in cooperation with star architect Frank Gehry, the Dancing House is located in the historic district of Prague along the Vlatava river on a site formerly hit by bombings at the end of World War II. The original idea consisted of a building made of two parts, static and dynamic, which were to symbolize the transition of the country from a communist regime to parliamentary democracy.

The Dancing House is considered deconstructivist architecture due to its unusual shape. Its name derives from famous dancers Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers which the structure represents. The building consists of two parts: a glass tower supported by curved pillars is used to represent Ginger, while a tower made of rock is used to represent Fred. This second part made of rock further runs parallel to the river and is characterized by 99 undulating unaligned window panels giving the building its characteristic look.

8. Turning Torso, Sweden

The Turning Torso is a residential skyscraper in Sweden completed in 2005. The project was designed by Spanish architect and artist Santiago Calatrava and was inspired by one of his sculptures: the Twisting Torso. The design consists of nine segments of irregular pentagonal shape that twist relative to each other as the tower rises (the topmost segment is twisted 90 degrees with respect to the ground floor). With its height of 190 m (623 ft), the Turning Torso dominates Malmö's skyline and is the tallest building in all of Scandinavia.
