#1. Scarlet Macaw

Macaws are exotic birds inhabiting the rainforests of South America. They belong to a family of birds called Psittacidae, one of the three types of true parrot. Part of their beauty is the bright colours in their plumage: bright yellow, crimson red, green grass, royal blue and orange. Many people have macaws as pets, but the Ara macao is a species that must be taken care of in the natural environment.

Macaws are medium-sized birds, but have large wings that attract lots of attention when they are spread. They are very social birds that love to stay in groups, but are perhaps most beautiful in the air. It is fascinating to see a group of macaws flying. It looks like a drawing of a rainbow in the sky, partly why they are one of the 10 most beautiful animals in the world.

Although we think the scarlet macaw is one of the prettiest, there are many other types which are just as beautiful.

#2. White Bengal Tiger

Without doubt one of the most popular animals in the world is the Bengal tiger. They are recognized as a symbol of grandeur and strength.

White Bengal tigers or tigers of mixed Bengal/Amur ancestry have pink noses, white-to-creme coloured fur and black, grey or chocolate-coloured stripes. White Bengal tigers eyes are usually blue, but may be green or amber. There are several hundred captive White Bengal tigers worldwide (this number increases annually), all of whom can trace their ancestry back to ‘Mohan’, a White Bengal tiger caught in Rewa, India in 1951.

#3. Mute Swan

There is nothing more beautiful a vision than a family of Mute Swans gliding softly across a pond or lake. Both adults, standing guard front and rear, for the young cygnets in between. It’s hard to believe this magnificent bird is an invasive species, and not native at all to our country, or even our continent.

It’s even more difficult to believe that these animals are facing serious reductions in populations at the hands of various state agencies who find these swans to be a nuisance rather than a beautiful addition to our vast wildlife spectrum. Once again, it seems humans are much too eager to use death as a solution instead of finding more humane ways to live WITH the animal.

#4. White Peacock

The Peacock is an exquisite bird. Never did a bird have more of a right to display its vanity. The peacock is extraordinary with its vivid colors and uniquely shaped feathers. This bird parades its beauty and extravagant feathers.

The White Peacock is just as lovely in beauty. Its feathers and appearance is nearly exactly the same as its colorful counterpart, except its feathers are white. The White Peacock fans out its white train to display its feathers, revealing a cloud of white magnificence. The all white color of a peacock is a trait of beauty among a species of beautiful birds. A white version of an animal can be found in nearly any species, but the white Peacock is not an albino. Check out 10 most expensive animals in the world here.

#5. Beadlet Anemone

This flower-like little sea anemone is found from the United Kingdom down to the Mediterranean Sea and all the way down the Atlantic coast of Africa. It has a dark red body with as many as 192 lighter red or even pink tentacles. These tentacles can retract completely, leaving a red or orange blob. This ability is useful as the anemone is often found in tidal pools where the tide does not come in for long periods. When the tentacles are open, tiny blue beads can be found just beneath them. These beads are called acrorhagi and contain the anemone’s stinging cells. Still, people sometimes keep beadlet anemones in home aquariums.

#6. Mandarinfish

It is arguably the most beautiful fish in the ocean, but the Mandarinfish (Synchiropus splendidus) has got so much more going on for it than all those pretty colours.

At home in the sheltered lagoons and inshore reefs of the Pacific Ocean, ranging from the Ryukyu Islands off the coast of Japan, to warm Australian waters, this little dragonet is covered in tiny spines to inject a toxic mucus into anyone who tries to handle and/or eat it.

The mandarinfish contains two types of secretary cells in its colourful epidermis – one that produces a thick mucus coating to protect it from the elements, and another that produces a toxin to protect it from predators. And not only is this toxic mucus coating dangerous, particularly if it makes it into a predator’s open wound, but reportedly, it smells disgusting.

#7. Arabian Horse

The Arabian horse has been bred to be both beautiful and biddable for about 4500 years. It’s one of the world’s most popular breeds and has improved the line of many other horse breeds, including racing thoroughbreds. Its head is unmistakable, as it is short, concave, and elegant.

The head of a true Arabian has a jibbah by the Bedouin, which is a long bulge found between the eyes. The eyes are large and spaced farther apart and lower on the head than they are on other types of horses. The ears are small and sometimes have an inward curve. The arched neck is graceful but powerful and flows beautifully into the withers. The horse has a short back, hard, clean legs and a tail held high in proportion to its croup. Even its skeleton is different, for the Arabian has 17 ribs, 16 tail bones, and five lumbar bones. Other horses have 18 ribs, 18 tailbones, and six lumbar bones. The Arabian horse is prized for its stamina as well as its beauty.

#8. White Tern

In sharp contrast to the peacock, the white tern, Gygis alba is pure white, with a black bill and large black eyes. Also called the white noddy, it has a 30- to 34-inch wingspan and is found around the coasts of the Pacific Ocean and on islands in the Indian Ocean such as the Maldives and Seychelles. It’s a long-lived bird that can live over 40 years.

Unlike other terns, it doesn’t build a nest on the ground. Indeed, the white tern doesn’t build a nest at all but simply lays its one egg on bare tree branches. Fortunately, the feet of hatchlings have evolved to be able to hold on to tree limbs. The white tern is also the official bird of Honolulu.

#9. Siberian Husky

Many consider Siberian Huskies to be some of the most beautiful dogs out there. Their bright blue eyes and fluffy coat easily put them on the top of most lists. They have a double-coat with erect ears and very distinctive markings.

However, this often leads many people to adopt them for their looks alone. We do not recommend this dog for first-time owners, though. They are extremely active and require quite a bit of exercise. They also have a tendency to be quite stubborn. They are not very trainable, though they are intelligent. Instead, they tend to ignore commands when they are given and do their own thing. Their intelligence can also get them in trouble. They will figure out how to open cabinets and even doors. They are often intelligent exactly when you don’t want them to be.

However, they are great personality dogs. Many people absolutely love their personalities, but they can be a bit to take care of.

#10. Glasswinged Butterfly

The glasswinged butterfly is one of the strangest and most peculiar butterflies in the world. There is much competition for the most beautiful butterfly or moth. They have some of the most beautiful designs on their wings anywhere in the animal kingdom and their graceful appearance is much sought after.

The glasswinged butterfly makes the list thanks to the texture of their wings. They are completely transparent, except for a brown edge with a white stripe. This makes them appear to change color, depending on which setting they are in. They almost camouflage against their surroundings. This exceptional ability makes them blend in with the vegetation and distracts predators.
