In-depth Tips To Reduce Gas Use

1.Drive only when needed. The easiest way to save money is to simply drive less and walk or bike when you can. Many of these other tips will help you with this one.

2.Combine trips for multiple errands. If you only go out once and figure out how to go to the places you need to in the least amount of distance, you will save time and money.

3.Avoid idling. When your car is running, but not going anywhere, you're basically getting 0 miles per gallon. So if you're going to be parked somewhere for more than a minute, and if it is safe, switch to park.

4.Drive at or near the speed limit. The faster you drive, the worse your gas mileage will get.

5.Use cruise control. Using cruise control and coasting on the highway will save gas since you aren't breaking and gassing as often.

6.Avoid rush hour. The stopping and starting will cost more in terms of fuel.

7.Lose the weight. If you carry a lot of extra weight, such as heavy cargo or an extra roof box on your car, remove it.

8.Determine how to cool. When driving on roads, windows may be more fuel-efficient than AC, but once on the highway, windows will cause drag that will cost more for fuel.

9.Check your tires. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. If they aren't, you'll be using extra gas to make up for it.

10.Get your car checked. Maintenance problems that aren't fixed could be causing your vehicle to not run smoothly. This can mean your car is working harder than it needs to.

Note: And the most important thing in Florida for drivers to keep in mind to save money on gas: Look for the cheapest gas stations. At these stations, gas prices are often cheaper than the Florida average. Please keep in mind!

Mobil Corporation (originally Standard Oil Company of New York and then Socony-Vacuum Oil Company) was an American oil company that merged with Exxon in 1999 to form ExxonMobil. Prior to its merger with Exxon, Mobil was one of the Seven Sisters that dominated the global petroleum industry from the mid-1940s until the 1970s. As one of the 34 original companies to descend from the breakup of Standard Oil, Mobil was originally known as the Standard Oil Company of New York (Socony). Mobil credits itself with being the first company to introduce paying at the pump at its gas stations, as well as the first company to introduce a mobile payment device, today known as Speedpass.

Today, Mobil continues as a brand name within the combined company, as well as still being a gas station sometimes paired with its own store or On the Run. Mobil's brand name is primarily used to market motor oils, such as Mobil 1. The former Mobil headquarters in Fairfax County, Virginia, was used as ExxonMobil's downstream headquarters until 2015 when ExxonMobil consolidated employees into a new corporate campus in Spring, Texas.

Mobil continues to operate as a major brandname of ExxonMobil within the ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties division. Many of its products feature the Mobil symbol of a winged red horse, Pegasus, which has been a company trademark since its affiliation with Magnolia Petroleum Company in the 1930s.

The Mobil brand now mainly covers a wide range of automotive, industrial, aviation and marine lubricants. For historic reasons, the Mobil brand is still used by Mobil service stations and for fuel (gasoline, diesel, heating oil, kerosene, aviation fuels and marine fuel) products.

Lutz is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States, 15 miles north of Tampa. The northern part of Lutz also makes up a portion of south Pasco County. The population was 19,344 at the 2010 census.

Lutz began with the construction of a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad. The area surrounding the depot officially became known as "Lutz" when the U.S. Postal Service authorized a post office. The community was named for W. P. Lutz, who was credited with bringing the railroad to town.

As people moved to the rural community from Tampa, the Lutz area continued to grow until it no longer depended on the "Lutz Junction", which was demolished in the late 1960s.

In 2000, a replica of the depot was rebuilt in the approximate location, which is now at the intersection of Lutz-Lake Fern Road and U.S. Highway 41. The post office's structure is still in the same place today, although it is now an art gallery. A public library is located behind the train depot replica. This area is known as "Beautiful Downtown Lutz".

Part of the movie Edward Scissorhands was filmed on Tinsmith Circle in the neighborhood of Carpenter's Run in north Lutz in Pasco County. In the credits the town is named in the "Thank you" section.
