10. 2020 Nissan Versa

Measuring 177 inches from tip to tail, the 2020 Nissan Versa is a subcompact vehicle that offers a lovely interior for a low price. Fully redesigned for 2020, this five-seater can store 14.7 cubic feet of baggage in the trunk of its base model, and 15 cubic feet in the SV and SR trims. Those are respectable numbers for the subcompact car class. The wide cargo opening and deep trunk make it easy to stash unwieldy items.

Most trims come equipped with 60/40 split-folding rear seats, making the Versa especially versatile and convenient. The Nissan is also one of the most economical subcompact cars, considering its comparatively low starting point.

As for safety, the 2020 Versa earned the highest rating of Good from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the two crash tests it went through. The Versa earned an overall safety rating of five out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
