How Many Hospitals in Australia?
Many Australians receive care each year from hospitals, which play a significant part in the country's health care system. Both admitted (both for emergency and non-emergency, or what is known as "elective" treatment) and non-admitted patients receive services (through outpatient clinics and emergency departments).
An overview of the national information about hospitals in Australia and the services they offer is given in this study.
Public and private hospitals both offer healthcare care in Australia. The majority of public hospitals are owned and operated by state and territorial governments, with financing coming from the Australian government as well. Private for-profit and not-for-profit organizations that are funded by patient fees, which are frequently subsidized by a combination of government and private health insurance payments, own and operate private hospitals.

|I was admitted to the emergency room late one night last week after work due to acute gastritis and underlying conditions. I had to wait a while before the doctors and nurses came to check on me. When I explained that this was a monthly occurrence, they got right to work and didn't waste any time. The staff at the short-term care facility wasted no time in performing a battery of diagnostic tests on the patient, including a complete blood count, urine analysis, X-rays, ultrasound, and round-the-clock monitoring. The hospital was clean, well-kept, and ran smoothly thanks to its competent and courteous staff. |
This city's public hospital is one of the best I've seen. If you need immediate medical attention, I suggest going to Alfred Hospital.
|Massive hospital, more professional looking compared to most hospitals that i've been too, doctors & nurses are quite good and their cafe is absolutely lovely as well |
their wards are also kept neat and tidy, and the atmosphere is a bit more serious

|Big shout out to all the staff at the RBWH for their exemplary care of my 85 year old mum who recently underwent cancer surgery. I honestly cannot fault the medical teams and nursing staff at this hospital. In fact all the staff from the cleaners to the nurses to the doctors and the volunteers were amazingly helpful. Melbourne has a world-class children's hospital, and that's a huge blessing. I could not have asked for better care for my son; the entire staff, from the doctors to the nurses, are so compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled.
There is a palpable sense of kindness and humor amongst the staff, which goes a long way toward ameliorating what is, unfortunately, a rather unpleasant experience for everyone involved, including the kids and their caregivers.

|The new RAH is brilliant. Well thought out & designed so each Dept has separate air conditioning & is quite autonomous. This makes you feel safer when you are in a particular Dept, knowing you are not anywhere near Covid patients for example. Staff are constantly using hand sanitiser between patients & they wear masks all the time. Patients are required to wear masks as well of course. You are required to have a RAT test before being treated in the Dept where I attend, & I assume this is hospital policy throughout the whole hospital. I feel secure there, as a day patient for monthly Infusions.|
