| The FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitives For 2026 |
The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list remains one of the most powerful public-facing tools in U.S. law enforcement. Created in 1950, the list is designed to spotlight fugitives whose capture is believed to be aided by national and international publicity.
For 2026, the list reflects a mix of violent crime, transnational drug trafficking, large-scale fraud, and organized criminal leadership.
Recently Captured: Alejandro Rosales Castillo
Before turning to those still at large, the FBI closed one of its longest-running cases in early 2026 with the arrest of Alejandro Rosales Castillo. Castillo had been on the Ten Most Wanted list since 2017 for his alleged role in the 2016 murder of Truc Quan “Sandy” Ly Le in North Carolina. He was captured in Pachuca, Mexico, after nearly a decade on the run.
His arrest removed one name from the list but underscored how sustained international cooperation can eventually bring fugitives to justice.

Why the 2026 List MattersThe Ten Most Wanted list is not simply symbolic. Historically, nearly one-third of all fugitives on the list have been captured due to public tips. Rewards, high-visibility media coverage, and international coordination remain central to the program’s success. As the capture of Alejandro Rosales Castillo demonstrated, fugitives can evade justice for years — even decades — but sustained effort and public awareness continue to play a decisive role. |
