A hot and exciting NFL season awaits us. When will the NFL schedule for 2023 be made public? When does the new season begin? What crucial dates should you remember during the offseason?

When Will the NFL Schedule 2023/24 Be Announced?

The NFL has not yet specified when the 2023 NFL schedule will be made public. For the first time ever, the NFL released its schedule in May during the pandemic season of 2020. The league has continued this pattern in the ensuing seasons.

It has never, however, been made available after May 12.

It is anticipated that the NFL schedule for 2021–2022 will be revealed during the schedule release show on NFL Network on May 12, 2021, at 8 PM EST.

ESPN.com, CBSSports.com, and USAToday.com typically publish the schedule online first. ESPN or NFL.com typically release the first schedules that can be downloaded and printed in PDF format. Vividseats.com will offer NFL ticket sales for the first time in 2021–2022.

The preseason schedule is usually made public 10–2 weeks before the start of the regular season. Schedules, matchups, and the beginning of the NFL free agency period all affect when the album will be released.

Those dates are obviously out because Kansas City will host the NFL Draft from April 27–29. Given that April 29 falls on a Saturday, the NFL is unlikely to announce the schedule until the following Wednesday or Thursday, allowing the NFL draft to have some breathing room before the next major event.

Editor Note: The second week of May is therefore a more likely target. We can probably expect to learn the NFL schedule on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

When Does the 2023/24 NFL Football Season Begin?

The Hall of Fame Game on Friday, August 4, will serve as the opening preseason contest of the 2023 NFL season. It was revealed that the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns will play in this opening game.

Joe Thomas, a left tackle for the Browns, Joe Klecko, and Darrelle Revis, a safety for the Jets, are among the nine players being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

On Thursday, September 7, the actual 2023 NFL regular season will begin. The Super Bowl champions typically host the first game. The 2023–2024 season lasts for five months and concludes with Super Bowl 58 on February 11, 2024.
