Security cameras later showed her at a motel in Bohemia the next day, but she disappeared again. Her father, Frank, said she initially met a man she knew from online and was later picked up by a random 65-year-old stranger.
Frank began a desperate search to find Emmarae, working closely with the police and the local community. They used search parties, helicopters, search dogs, fliers, and social media to try to locate her. Frank also offered a $10,000 reward for information.
Finally, an anonymous tip helped Frank find his daughter on a boat in Islip, 13 miles from Patchogue. Frank personally went to the boat, found Emmarae, and brought her back. She is now in the hospital and recovering. Frank believes she was involved with some dangerous people and that there are multiple people under investigation.
After reuniting with his daughter, Frank shared his relief and gratitude, saying it was a gift from God to see her alive and in his arms after 26 days of worry. He now wants to help other parents in Long Island who are searching for their missing children.
