Move to Heaven Season 1 Netflix Release Date
Thanks to the release of the teaser trailer, we can now confirm this Move to Heaven will premiere on Netflix on Friday, 14 May 2021.
Since the series is a full Netflix Original and is not licensed internationally, this means 16 episodes will be available for streaming at the time of release.
Move to Heaven Season 1 Netflix Plot
Thanks to Netflix’s early press release, we do actually know the basic premise for Move to Heaven. The show focuses around two ‘trauma cleaners’, Gu-ru (Tang Jun-sang) and Sang-gu (Lee Je-hoon).
Gu-ru has Asperger’s syndrome and is left alone in the world when his father suddenly passes away. However, his uncle appears one day after being released from prison and takes over as his legal guardian – much to the suspicion of Na-mu, a neighbour and only friend of Gu-ru.

The full cast list for Move to Heaven has not been released yet, but we do know who the main actors will be; Tang Jun-sang, Lee Je-hoon and Hong Seung-hee.
Tang Jun-sang is one of South Koreas fastest rising young actors. The 16-year-old is best known for his roles in Crash Landing on You (2019) as Geum Eun-dong, A Poem A Day (2018) as Kyu-min and Abiding Love Dandelion (2014) as a young Seo Joon-Ho.
The youngster has also appeared in several feature films including The King’s Letters (2019) as Hak-jo, Birthday (2019) as Woo-chan and Youngju (2018) as Young-in.
Lee Je-hoon is a well-known South Korean actor who fans may recognise from his roles in Time to Hunt (2020) as Joon-seok, Phantom Detective (2016) as Hong Gil-dong and The Front Line (2011) as Captain Shin Il-young.
The 35-year-old has also appeared in Where Stars Land (2018), Anarchist from Colony (2017), Tomorrow, With You (2017) and Signal (2016) and Architecture 101 (2012).
Hong Seung-hee is another of South Koreas new generation of actors appearing in Move to Heaven. The 22-year-old is best known for her roles in King Maker: The Change of Destiny (2020) as a young Lee Bong-ryeon, Memorist (2020) as Lee Bo-Yeon and I Wanna Hear Your Song (2019) as Yang Soo-jung.
It has also been revealed that Ji Jin-hee and Lee Jae-wook will be making ‘special appearances’ in the show.
Move to Heaven Season 1 Netflix Trailer
Move to Heaven is an upcoming Netflix Original South Korean family drama written by screenwriter Yoon Ji Ryun, and directed by Kim Sung-ho. The series has been produced by Number Three Pictures, and Page One Film which continues the streaming services’ multi-million dollar investment into South Korean content. Upon release Move to Heaven will become the eleventh South Korean Netflix Original series released. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Netflix continues to invest in content from South Korea as the country continues to provide some of the most popular Non-English language programmings on Netflix. |
